Crafting with…Courtney! Episode 15

Hello everyone, and welcome to the fifteenth episode of “Crafting with…Courtney!” I’m here to make crafting fun, easy, and good for you!

Our newest visitors to Stormreach have brought a new way to craft with them! Artificers specialize in the use of Rune Arms, and these crafty adventurers have found a way to imbue their weapons with Cannith crafting shards! It’s always fun to have new things to craft onto, so today we’ll be looking at Rune Arm crafting!

Today’s recipe is called Lucky and Angry, and imbues a Shard of Good Luck onto Khyber’s Fury, a special Rune Arm that can be found in Tangleroot Gorge. Good Luck will add a +1 Luck Bonus to all skills and saving throws!

Crafting onto a Rune Arm is as easy as finding out how powerful a shard you can craft onto the item, making the shard, and then combining the shard and Rune Arm in the Item Creation Device for either Bound or Unbound Shards! Let’s take a look at Khyber’s Fury:

Rune Arms all contain a certain amount of crafting potential; in this case the potential is +3. That means you can craft any shard up to a +3 potential onto it! Keep in mind that adding to the potential of the Rune Arm can dramatically increase the minimum level of an item, so be careful! Also note that you can only apply a shard to a Rune Arm once! The Rune Arm cannot be deconstructed, and the shard cannot be replaced, so keep that in mind when preparing to craft onto it!

To make the Shard of Good Luck you will need:

  • The ability to make a Divine level 31 shard.
  • 6 Greater Divine Essences
  • 32 Lesser Divine Essences
  • 9 Siberys Dragonshard Fragments
  • 2 Caravan Logbooks

To make Lucky and Angry:

  1. Using the Shard Creation Device for Bound Shards, combine the essences and other ingredients to make a Shard of Good Luck.
  2. Place Khyber’s Fury into the Item Creation Device for Bound Items, then add the Shard of Good Luck to the device. Click “Craft”.

That’s it! It’s easy to craft onto a Rune Arm! Notice that adding this shard increases the minimum level of Khyber’s Fury from 5 to 11.
