You've probably explained this before, but unfortunately I missed it. My understanding is:

    1) +x Loot level raises the level of the chest so it gives the best chance to get a +17 item.

    2) Treasure hunter's bonus gives you a higher chance of a third bonus ability, but doesn't increase odds of getting a +17 item since loot level is unchanged.

Is this right or is there more to it?

    1) +x Loot Level raises the level of the chest, yes.

    2) Treasure Hunter's bonus gives bonuses to your rolls on random loot. When generating a piece of random loot the power level of each effect (Prefix, Suffix, and Extra) are rolled on (each have a range they can reach based on the Min level). Basically, it increases your chances of finding items with high power effects at the level of the chest. It does NOT increase your chance of obtaining an "Extra" effect.

I'm certainly in no position to have direct knowledge of this, but everyone seems to think that it does increase your chance for an extra effect. Is that not what Cordovan meant by:

So the chance for a third effect is rolled differently than the chance for a better effect?

    So you open a chest...

The game rolls for type of loot (plat, gems, random item, named item, etc.)
The game rolls for type of item (boots, longsword, gloves, repeating crossbow, etc.)
The game rolls for number of effects (2 or 3, and maybe a slot)
The game rolls for effectiveness of effects (STR +6 to +9, for example)

"Lucky rolls" and Treasure Hunter only applies to that last bit.

Drastically oversimplified I'm sure, but is this about the gist of it?

This is solid because the levelers *AND* the raiders get a boost. Your metrics will show a boost in logins/day and "median logged-in time per account". Good boost 8/10 IGN

That's a relatively accurate way of assessing it, yes. =]

It's probably been mentioned before but I didn't see it.

Will +10 treasure hunter bonus days stack with a greater treasure hunter elixir +15? So effectively giving +25 for the loot rolls?

If, while at home and unable to access my work notes from last December, I recall correctly: Yes.
