This is like comparing HOrc (Cavemen) to Drow (Astronaut), so in a hand to hand fight, the caveman would win

Caveman for sure. Human physique has lessen in the last few centuries. Astronauts are generally overall fit. I would assume cavemen would be huge in comparison. It may not be intelligent but in hand to hand it's a dump stat.

In a purely hand to hand battle in a neutral enviorment I would say the caveman would win.
Reasons:
Caveman is very instinctual brutal not unlike an animal. To him it would be all or nothing in battle.
Astronauts are physically fit and intelligent (usually) but as far as killer instincts go I think they fall short.

The astronaut, because in all likelihood, he's a MARINE. (IE: John Glenn)
Or another Military Officer, IE: Navy or Air Force.
And therefore would be Highly Trained in Hand to hand combat, as well as survival
And improvised weapons... Never thought about that one did you...?
