    Default False advertising getting irritating

I'm all about the personalized LFM advertising that goes on, to make sure you get what you want in a group. But when you advertise things...make sure you live up to what you are asking for yourself...

Two times, while leveling my barbarian, I come across groups like this.

One for Gwylan's Stand proclaims "No Wuss's", and they have 5 people in..so I think it's the group for me. Click on the lfm...and send a tell to the leader, who tells me "sorry, we need a rog". I send tell back, "aren't rog's for wuss's?" No reply. So I jump on my rog, hoping to sneak ahead and get traps quick...but they were already far along...and the first thing I hear from the leader is "Can I get a heal. Come on man...you gotta heal me." Has the definition for wuss changed?

Second one, apparently didn't appreciate me soloing ahead with my barb while they did the first cave, and told me they loved strategy over brainless fighting. I tell them what more strategy can you get than soloing? The more limited the resources...the more strategy right? Apparently not.

Then, we lose our cleric right before we go into the Mightyhoof cave...and they all sit there like we're dead in the water. I devise this plan where one person stands outside the cave, the rest of the group stands at the entrance, and the rog goes and grabs everything, brings it through the traps, and if we die fighting, the person who stood outside can just jump in and grab stones.

Not only do these people who ridiculed me for being a brainless barbarian say no to my plan...they also fail to devise any strategy other than waiting for another cleric to join....what's up with this?

I'm not a country boy or anything...but it makes me think "Where have all the cowboys gone?"

the classic cry for help - the truly uber deliberately look for wusses to make it more of a challenge.

I joined a PuG the other day that promised beer and hot women in the lfm... Let me tell you, neither of those items were present once we got in the quest.
    Have a nice day!

I have joined many groups that promise free cookies. Sadly though I have yet to recieve even a bad cookie. I prefer chocolate chip, but an oatmeal raisin will do in a pinch.

Well, you appear to be a warforged based on your forum avatar. How exactly were you going to "consume" the promised goods?

/this, really. I've been in some really awesome pugs, (not just the TS raids where you just sort of try not to get lost or left) but ones where everyone either knows what they're doing, or can help and direct those who don't (provided they have half a brain, and need just a few pointers. A team-killing f-tard is a team-killing f-tard, no matter how long they've played.)

And then there are the ones where no one seems to have read anything ever about DR, where people join parties and randomly pop hirelings w/o asking, and of course where ppl leapfrog over the crouched rogue into the Blender of Doom I'd really like to take the res shrine out of the treasure room in Xorian, and just be able to leave the stones of ppl who've set off the traps.

It was a gamble, I know. I hoping the Stone of Change could make some "tasty beer oil" for me. As far as the hot ladies are concerned... Well, that's my business.
    Have a nice day!

LOL! Tasty beer oil! I might have to try brewing some of that some day! +1 for you, sir!

And I'll try to set aside the image of the hot ladies giving you a "tune up" in tight fitting, pit crew attire. Brings a whole new meaning to "getting screwed."

Absolutely has nothing to do with false advertising. And even with that...you're telling, if me your advice is worth 2 cents, that weeds out these people? Apparently then, you've never followed your own advice, or you'd know different...either that or this is just a static response you give, with little to no thought.

On the other side, isn't it fun when you start a group that says "be self sufficient - starting in 3 minutes" and then when in 3 minutes you start without a cleric/fvs and people start freaking out?

"Dude, we can't do SC without a healer, trust me I've done it like 5 times!"

You know its true that, especially with dungeon scaling, you are stupid to party with others for those lowbie quests...and yet... I can't get away from feeling like we SHOULD party because D&D is supposed to be a group game.

That said, yesterday I joined a "caged troll" elite group that had 4 people already in it. I got ship buffs, went to the site, and realized that they had decided that they needed to wait for a cleric. I dropped, solo'd, and then laughed when I saw they were back up to 5, but still no cleric/fvs. I dunno... I guess eventually I'll learn not to try pugging lowbie stuff

Equally annoying...except for by the time my lfm is responded, I'm to the first pillar, and it's annoying to have to pop out and restart the whole instance over a noob.

    Yeap, exactly.

Also, the english to english translation of "no noobs, know the quest" is usually "we dont know what the heck we are doing in here so we need someone to drag us through this quest by our earlobes."
