    Question Blind Invites

Ever get spammed with blind invites? I'm sure all of us have encountered the infamous blind invite atleast once in the game. How about when you click the 'Decline' button and they continuously spam you with blind invites? Or when the person sends you a blind invite then proceeds to ask you "want to do such&such quest?" you kindly decline, then get a tell back calling you an aweful name.

How do you handle yourself in this situation? Do you keep your cool, /squelch the person, and move on? Or do you respond back with @#%$@%!% and continue on with a pointless fight? Perhaps the person persists and you finally have to open up a harassment ticket.

Let's hear what our community members have to say about this...

I don't waste my time with them. With either nasty tells or spam invites I just sent a harassment ticket and send them a tell "Reported, have a nice day =)"

If it becomes a problem, I go into UI and turn off "accept party invites" and forget about it. Some characters get more blind invites than others, so sometimes I just leave party invites turned off all the time. Not a big deal at all to me.

I've yet to run into anyone sending rude /tells or doing anything that warranted a harassment report. Heck, I've never /squelched anyone either, even though there was one time I thought about it really hard.

Very little in this game worth getting bent out of shape over.

I love blind invites. I take them all and run every quest I get blind invited to. My favorite blind invites are from characters level's 1-3 when I'm on one of my capped toon and the start with something like, "Hey!".

    That is all.

So far I've been lucky. Half the blind invites I've been getting were timed so that I was zoning in/out of an area and it automatically got declined. Not sure how the noobs are quite managing that one but it sure saves me the trouble of clicking "No".

Or run them through a great exp quest, wasting their first time bonus, and then yell at them for a couple minutes about how a level 20 isn't able to powerlevel them.

Accept them, jump into an explorer area and ignore them.

Depends on my plans, if I'm not sure what I want to do, blind invites can be quite funny, even more so, because I'm not good at getting into parties in other ways.

What if they send you another one? I didn't think squelching the person deters them from resending an invite.

If someone who is on your squelch list sends you an invite, it is automatically declined and you won't even know if they sent you one, much like if they click on your lfm it will automaically decline them, without anything being sent to you.

    It's an awesome tool.

I like blind invites...it gives me perfect opportunity to be a ass to completely random people for almost no reason.... instead of picking a random noob, the random noob picks you

    Default Meh.

I was obliged to go Anonymous on my Cleric for this very reason. I agree that when you're being spammed blind invites though, the correct response is to report them for harassment.

Depends on my mood at the time, and whether or not the persons name rings bells or is a name that would fit within the fantasy world setting of DDO. Generic or annoying names with Death, Dark, multiple X's, any for of leetspeak, nonoriginal variations of a well known character, or known affiliation for being in a random guild with a bad rep are an automatic no if there is no tell prior.

Then again....deciding to finish off as a battle cleric for the current TR life tends to get people to leave me be. Can I heal and possess the gear for it? Yes, but its considerably more stressful (in DDO more than other MMOs due to the way the limited resource system works).

Normally if they do it just the once I decline straight away, but if they start spamming them, then its a wee /squelch .
