Exclamation i would like 2 see the class warlock in ddo plz

The warlock class is a great combat and solo class thier buffs r self only but they last 24 hrs on paper and they don't have a limit to how many times they can use there powers. They have a very limited amount of powers (much much more limited then sorcerer) but again they have infinte uses. They really are a 1 trick class and the 1 trick is there eldritch blast but they can get other powers 2 modify wat effect that attack does. They base eldritch blast is on a d6 on certian lvl system (kinda like rogue's sneak attack d6) the eldritch blast is a single target attack but 1 of the powers is called chian now wat it does is the 1st target takes the full E blast (E for eldritch) then it bounces to 1 foe per 4 lvls every foe after the 1st takes half the total d6 (say he/she has a 4d6 blast base dmg so if he/she hit the 1st target it takes the full 4d6 the blast then jumps 2 the nearest target and on a sucessful hit of the 2nd target that target takes only 2d6 and if there is a 3rd target hit it would only take 1d6)

then go play 4th edtion D&D. or WoW.

why would they throw in a third class of caster to do the exact same thing the current casters do?

Highly unlikely you will see such a class. There was, to the best of my knowledge, no warlock class in the 3.5 rule set, which DDO was created from.
On Argo I play: Allandra Lvl 17 Rogue, and a few others.

There is indeed Warlock in D&D 3.5.
It's a base class in the "Complete Arcane" supplement.

    Nothing wrong with Warlocks.

I wouldn't mind them being introduced.

I do however hope they add another one first.

    My Priority would be Druids.

After that anything else would be awesome.

    Warlock
    Dragon Shaman
    War Mage
    Swashbuckler (definately want this one)
    Scout
    Artificer

I'd say Samurai, but I don't like the 3.5 edition of samurai... OA version was ok... but they'd have to do something with Iajitsu Focus for that to work

    Aesop
Rule 1: Don't sweat the small stuff
Rule 2: Its all small stuff
Rule 3: People are stupid. You, me everyone... expect it
more rules to come in a different sig

I would love Dragon Shaman myself. It's one of my favorite P&P classes.
High HP, party buff auras, Lay on Hands-like healing, and a breath weapon every 1d4 rounds. They're great in a frontline support role.

Warlocks do NOT perform in the same way as current casters first thing. Secondly, they are working to add Druids to the game which is another caster. If you do a count, there are 5 melee classes that are different completely. Caster class wise, there is a total of 5 caster types, but 2 of the arcanes are effectively similar in a lot of ways, 2 of the divines follow the same path and then you have Bards, which are considered casters but inlie in the middle.

With that said, I highly doubt that warlocks will be introduced anytime soon. Rather, they will probably add psionic classes next for a different diversity.

Just and FYI, Favored Soul is a 3.5 edition from the Complete Divine handbook, and warlock is added from the Complete Arcanes.

Most likely would be a gimp and useless class here and dont need a 3rd arcane.

Again.... do YOU even know what a warlock does? They're not your typical arcane.

They're more of a steady ranged DPS class, complete with a full arsenal of at will abilities. Combined with a slew of ranged debuffs, they could be the ranged character everyone wants to play when they actually roll up an arcane archer.

They're far more different from sorcs and wizards than sorcs and wizards are different from themselves.

Can you imagine the **** Warlock movie reference characters created over and over and over? More than half will be male human or elf with blond hair. NO. JUST NO.

That's true. But then again you could say the same about almost any other base class. Druids included, the game is doing fine with the classes we have now, anything else isn't needed. But that doesn't mean that more variety is a bad thing.

I would personally like to see druids, dragon shaman, and scout before I see warlocks, plus they would have to figure out the blast speed nightmare to make them roughly equal to other classes in damage at various levels. I personally support the "at wills" being based on spell points and blast shapes / types to be stances and metamagic-like toggles.

    Down the line, maybe.
But, there are other things I'd prefer to see implemented first. Many other things.

    want a warlock?

Make a UMD sorc. there, problem solved.
Q&A is the business of pointing out others' failures. Optimists need not apply.
