Default I don’t remember the last time I played...

I remember doing the underdark raid, one of the first groups in the game to do so, but past that, I don’t think I played much. There just wasn’t groups or the servers were lagged out. Been itching to play again, but has anything changed? If I join back (would have to order a new computer and such so it will be a bit) but if it’s impossible to find groups, I don’t know if it’s worth coming back. Ya know? Like remembering the good times vs coming back to find a dead server/game.

    Depends on your server.

If you're on Wayfinder, good luck on finding groups.

If you're on one of the busier servers like Khyber, you'll have much better luck.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

If I remember right, you and I used to quest together fairly often on Khyber

There's a lot more content added, some of it quite fun. This has been A Good Thing.

There's been massive power creep in character abilities and gear. I consider that A Bad Thing, but some people seem to like it.

Population is lower than the old days, which is A Bad Thing, but it isn't dead yet. There's still people around.

There's always been the occasional lag, but for about the past year, lag has gotten vastly worse than it has been in many years. Not just lag in specific quests, but in any quest at any time for no apparent reason, and even everyone frozen for minutes at a time in public areas. This is definitely A Very Bad Thing, and a good reason to quit or not start playing again.

I'm sorry, but you must be mistaken. There is no lag in DDO.

    I think you're right.

What were some of your toon names?

Astriell was my main character, (former) completionist, avid raider and trader. RobK was another.

Both sound familiar. What guild were you in?

Plenty of groups still in my experience and a lot has changed! Lots of new and returning players this year so it's overall been pretty good imho.

I'm sorry sir, you must not be remembering correctly. DDO doesn't have any lag.

If you are focused on leveling and progression you'll probably have fun. You'll play the LFM's and get dragged through content at a very past pace however you will also easily accumulate a bunch of past lives and some good gear in the process. As a vet player you are unlikely to get blacklisted from the main LFM's because you'll know enough not to die constantly even though the environment is trying very hard to kill you.

If you are focused on play experience the only non-endgame based content at this point that is pure fun to play is the Ravenloft content. SSG really raised the bar with Ravenloft however the content after that has not really kept the pace.

Any areas that you have a fond spot in your heart for will still be fun to play as well. Gianthold and Epic Gianthold remain good content for me despite a hundred runs through the place over the years. You will probably have similar fun spots to play in.

It really is going to come down to whether you are interested in a *very* long grind to endgame, which is currently mid-to high reapers for most people who want to play endgame, or whether you have an alternate play style that you will find fun.
