Every month Playstation gives 2-3 games away for free if you have playstation plus. If a game is given away that I bought 3 years ago I don't mind. More people to play call of duty with. Do you guys get ****ed when places donate food and stuff too? Because you paid for yours everyone else has to?
Season Pass gives you all the stuff that comes out during the Season Pass (not counting expansions).

We *might* have one more adventure pack this year after August. Maybe. And then the Season Pass is done.

Season Pass should get something nice as a sign of appreciation for keeping SSG afloat when they needed that big cash infusion.

They paid extra to permanently get all non-expansion content that came out during that period and almost no content came out during that period aside from the expansion. I do think that the Season Pass holders should get something significant since they overpaid significantly for the VIP period when you recognize that they aren't going to get anything more than regular VIP folks or Premium folks are getting after the Season Pass is over.
Can you provide a link to where it was ever promised the season pass would get a specific amount of content each year? And furthermore, can you provide a link that proves the Season Pass isn't providing what it said it would? If the season pass has already granted the content this code is going to grant and will grant additional content that will release after the code has expired, there is no reason to get mad about not getting something "extra". You're already getting what you paid for.

EDIT: When I bought the Collectors edition of Shadowfell Conspiracy I had already owned every single adventure pack the CE included access to. This didn't mean I had the right to complain about not getting something extra beyond what was promised. In another game I bought a Lifetime Subscription when the game was new. Not even a year later, it went free to play. I'm still getting the VIP benefits, but I have zero right to complain about not getting my money's worth. Especially since I've done the math, and it would have cost me far more then the one time Lifetime Subscription I paid for (which was $300) to have subscribed all this time.

And I'm certainly not going to complain about not getting anything "extra" from this promotion just because I already bought almost all the adventure packs. I'm still going to buy the Ultimate Fan edition of Feywild when it becomes available for sale. I'm still going to mostly think the VIP benefits aren't really worth paying for due to me supporting the game via buying adventure packs. And I'm still going to have zero regrets over the fact I paid full price for almost every adventure pack, even though I could have waited for each one to go on sale before buying it.

The Season Pass expires this December. So only 4 months past this freebie. Whats that, maybe 1 update and then a couple of patches/fixes to the update? Again, happy for everyone else, but I paid $300 for the 2 year Season Pass which is basically wasted. My VIP for the last 2 years would have only been $200.

*I* didn't buy the Season Pass.

*I* am just saying that since the Season Pass holders paid 50% more than the VIP costs all in one shot when SSG obviously needed a cash infusion and the Season Pass isn't getting anything more than even free to play accounts are getting, that the Season Pass holders should get something extra.

I think that what SSG is doing is great.

I *ALSO* think that they should do something a little extra for the Season Pass holders who saved their butts a year and a half ago.

Goody for you. I also have been a VIP for 11 years and enjoyed the benefits. I bought Season Pass, which was 50% more than a standard VIP sub and expires this December, meaning I may get 1 extra update worth of content over and above everyone who didn't pay $300 to support SSG when they needed the cash.

Is it so unreasonable to your way of thinking that if SSG wants to do something nice for the community, they should try to make it as all-inclusive as possible? Do you agree or disagree?

Buying something new at full price, knowing that if you wait 3 years it will be half price, is not whats going on here.

    Default Thank you

I am a long time VIP and current Season Pass holder.

I am extremely grateful to SSG for doing what this excellent promotion! Great idea. I hope the influx of new players continues and we get a lot of folks to stick around!!!

Thanks for not only designing my favorite game, but for being such a standout company. Glad you formed SSG and that DDO today is so much better than it was in the WB days!

    Stay safe,

    I have the same question.

I am currently VIP and expect to remain so for the foreseeable future. I am fine with what SSG is doing, since I still see value in the other perks of VIP and in supporting the game on a consistent basis.

However, there could come a day when my circumstances change and I need to let my VIP lapse. If that were to occur, it would sure be nice to have gotten the opportunity to take advantage of this coupon.

I'd rather not have to fool with letting my VIP lapse just long enough to use the coupon and then turn it back on. Please confirm that I won't have to do this.

I've been a VIP Subscriber since 2006. Even when I didnt play for almost 2 years, I kept my sub going. I feel its $9 a month well spent.

When that Season pass thing came out, i was rather Confused. It didnt seem like more value than my VIP sub. So I passed.

But you folks that did pay for the Season Pass... you did get 3 Updates Prior to this Free to play promotion. Youve gotten VIP benefits as well. Plus the extra perks for that season pass. Gold Rolls.. That Ottos box.... So its not like you got nothing.

That being said, While I'm not int he "Slap in the face" category... I do feel some more perks may be in order for Season Pass and VIP subs. 1-5% extra XP that relies on other people isnt that exciting to me.

I'd love to see Sharn go on sale. I have not been playing as much as in the past these last couple years so I held off on the last expansion. At this point, I'm not going to buy it until it goes on sale. being able to play the content through August is great. but putting Ravenloft and Shard on sale would be a nice thing.

I will keep my VIP going no matter what... but it would be nice to get a little extra.

    Thanks, Standing Stone Games People!

Due to this, I think I'm going to try out Lord of the Rings Online too! I don't mean that sarcastically. I've been playing DDO for more than 10 years, as Premium, buying packs individually a couple times a year. Due to all of this (both money and time) investment in this game, it made me not want to look much at the Lord of the Rings sister game, because I'd be starting from nothing. So now, I'll get to take this Coupon deal on that game and put a little time over there :-) I mean, I'm sure this one will still be my primary MMO, but it'll be fun to try them both :-)

Thanks again! Maybe it'll get some of the LotR folks to try out this game too!

As a long time player, sub, not sub, whale, not whale, I can say without a doubt that this is awesome. Thanks for doing this. It means a lot to me as a player (even though it unlocks like 2 packs for me), since it means anyone who jumps on this bandwagon will suddenly have a huge breadth of content for one of the best games out there.

Now if I can only find groups when I log in

Did you know there would be a global pandemic that would bring everything to a screeching halt when you decided to pay for the season pass? Do you think SSG knew there would be one when they offered the season pass? Cause I highly doubt either you or SSG knew about the current crisis that far in advance.

At the time of purchase, knowing that you had no real idea how many adventure packs would be released during the period of the Season Pass, did you consider it to be worth the $300? Have you gotten what you paid for? If the answer to both questions is "yes", then why are you suddenly thinking you didn't get value for your money?

No, I don't think I'm entitled to the devs spending time and resources on free bonuses that will mainly benefit me and others who spent money on the game. I do on the other hand think it's a good thing that they are doing. Is it a little annoying the new player in my guild will be able to get every adventure pack for free while I spent money on them? Yes, it is. Am I enraged by this fact? No, I'm not. Do I think *I* need something special as a reward for supporting the game? Once again, no I don't. My reward for supporting the game is, and has been, the ability to play the game. And I understand that this is what one should expect as the reward when paying for an MMO.

Who said I bought them all when they were new? Or before they had ever gone on sale? I was buying them for full price, knowing that if I wait a month or two they are probably going on sale (again). And I did so to support the game I was enjoying. I'm not sure when you joined. But most of the adventure packs (especially the stuff before level 14) were content in the game before the game went Free-To-Play. I'd been running the quests as a paid subscriber long before you could buy adventure packs ala cart. Once the game went F2P I did some math, and concluded it would be cheaper to buy adventure paths then to subscribe. They were regularly going on sale. I didn't wait for a given pack to be on sale before I bought it.

Well played, SSG. A very welcome (and perhaps even needed) decision.

I mean, I get it, you paid for something others are getting at a reduced cost (or even free), I'd be annoyed too.

Given the state of the world, the series of events no one could have predicted when offerings were made, current skyrocketing unemployment, the pandemic, acute shiftings of values across the entire consumer space, etc etc, I'd gently recommend defining your happiness based more on what you have and are receiving, rather than what others are or aren't. Or temper your frustration with happiness for others in need getting a break. It's a good time for it.

    Default I am +30 stunned!

Thank you so much. I have been enjoying many quests and areas for packs I had not purchased. I was not actually aware of how great the content for those packs are. I look forward to many more crowds playing DDO and I am totally devoted to you.

The way I personally read it, Epic Destinies, Druid, PDK, etc are all not included. Which is fair enough. It specifically says the quests will be unlocked, after all. With VIP though you'll slowly get all the things that are excluded.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of.

ED's are part of MotU if you by it from the Market but from the in game store it doesn't as far as I know.

What would have been over the top crazy would be if they included races, classes and ED's (since you can't really play epics without them) too but that's asking for far to much I think (though we can dream xD).

I've been playing this game since 2011. I have purchased every expansion and adventure pack in the game. I own the game. I never bought VIP because I thought I was saving more money by just owning the game and buying things when they were on sale rather then paying the subscription. My wife on the other hand has been playing since 2006 and has been VIP since beta, having no owned content other than the expansions.

Having said that, Neither of us are the least bit upset that they will be offering for free to everyone, that which we have paid for. I paid for 9+ years of game play, she paid for 14 years of game play. It was worth it. It is the number one recreational thing we do outside of our jobs and we get to enjoy it together.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, ever since the game became SSG, it has improved. It hasn't been perfect and I haven't agreed with all their decisions but as a whole, I feel they have made a TON of improvements that they were unable to accomplish prior to it becoming SSG. I feel the quest content has been better overall, with Ravenloft leading in that category. This is hopefully another great decision that will increase player base, create more stability for the game, and allow more great content to be developed down the road. Thank you SSG.

P.S. Please DON'T raise the level cap :P

    Thanks SSG.

While I own all content and such (except wood elf) this is a generous move.

Regarding the mini-buddy bonus being VIP only, as a premium player and the person who originally proposed it, I think restricting it to VIP is a great idea. It was initially presented to incentivize group play and this does that. Additionally it adds a meaningful perk to VIP subscription.

Which brings me to my one big concern: with this Monte Haul giveaway, will DDO be financially sound? I hope so.
