I think it's important to note that the quoted bit of the announcement only mentions Adventure Packs and not expansions. The announcement also specifically calls out a sale on two Expansions (what sounds like the base editions of them) for 99 DDO points. Not sure if that'll be total to get both, or 99 points each. But this does imply that using the code will not give permanent access to the paid expansion content. Even so, this is great news. I can use the code with my secondary "Free" account, which will save a lot of favor grinding for DDO Points. It'll also let me pick up the first two paid expansions on that account with a (comparatively) minor amount of favor grinding.

Ravenloft and Sharn are the newest expansions, You can't expect them to give it for free, the 198 points is an afternoon farming or just to get to 50 favor on two servers (for new players). This is still very generous. And everything but paywall.
What I don't understand why people are not happy about the free stuff which is ALL adventure packs = lot of free points, a way to level to 20, to do heroic reincarnations (class or race). Before the free access a new player had trouble to level up to 20 for free. Now anybody can do it. FOR FREE. What else they want? A paid trip to Las Vegas?

This is a really nice gesture and much apreciated, thank you. I have been a VIP player for the last several years now and will remain so for the time being. I know a lot of premium players will be more than happy with this and the approach on social media I hope also attracts more players. I've recently got a family member into playing DDO so this is also excellent timing.

Would you also consider putting some sort of advertisement on steam as I feel that may also be benefical?

A max 5% bonus to xp for 100 dollars a year? why? why not just cancel your sub and get the stuff for free? 5% (max) xp is trivial. Thanks I guess for pulling the wool over my eyes and getting me to pay for so long, just should of waited....

Also, thanks!! I'm a premium player (bought all expansions, though, and paid for the ultimate bundles for ravenloft and sharn). However, I still don't own the threnal, restless isles, and red fens packs because I never saw them as relevant. Now I can complete my collection, yay!

Horrible idea. What about all the Premium players who paid for everything up-front, or all the VIPs who pay monthly, or all the Season Pass holders who were promised something just to have it all made free anyways.

The daily gold rolls are not typically much more than a free potion and 2-4k xp, hardly worth the 150% VIP cost I paid for it now that all the content will be free anyway. That was 2 years VIP for $299, versus the normal $99 per year. And as a long time solo player, the buddy xp does not apply to me.

So "Yay" for everyone else I guess.

Same i feel a big slap in the face, I've bought all content ever released and Season Pass for what? for them to give it away free to everyone anyway, and buddy XP ?? i also mainly play solo. wow this honestly has me thinking of not buying anything else in the future, i dont mind the extension of the free content to everyone but was hoping the season pass would get extended, but to give everyone all content free well nearly all, why do we bother to help support this game by buying it in the first place.

And for those saying why complain about free stuff maybe because some of us are getting absolutely nothing but a minute xp buff for paying $100's probably $1000's to the company.

I'm thinking maybe extend the season pass for a year and give season pass holders the next expansion free as there were only 1000 season passes given out.

VIP also gives new classes, races, and future adventure packs, as well as the ability to open on Elite prior to 2nd TR, bonus XP (they never stated they will be removing the current bonus, and I think that would be very stupid...), as well as DDO points which allows for purchasing consumables, account upgrades such as 32-point build, and purchasing Iconics if you do not have them yet. Also Shared Bank which is required for moving items to and from mules. Mostly though, VIP currently serves as a way to unlock most purchasables while accruing points so that you can eventually purchase them permanently for "free." I'm new and heavily considering subscribing to VIP just for these benefits.

While it's nice to see those 2 first expansions on sale again, Sharn has been out for over a year now. I'd like to see that and Ravenloft on sale at the 50%-75% off prices online that we normally have to wait till Black Friday or Christmas for, please. I need to buy 2 of Sharn, so I've been patiently waiting as the exchange rate is killer. This game has been out for 14 years now, so most people already own those 2 first expansion packs.

You still will get every non xpack content, which we wont. I think you still get some benefits that we wont (from now on)
