Overall Turn Elemental is a good addition to the elemental Cleric Domains, and is fun, which can’t be underrated.
Dwerkin is an Air Domain evoker pure Dwarven cleric. He has 3 cleric past lives and is working on racials. I noted on this life that turn undead calculations appear to be different for elementals. Doing the “Depths of... “ quests on HE (quest lvl 7) offers a good example. The Elementals were CR9, Dwerkin rolled and was able to turn up to 13-14 hitdie (HD), but that result was not enough to turn the 9 CR elemental.
It is possible that in DDO calculations Elementals have a lot of HD for their CR level. Generally DDO Undead appear to be 1 CR ~ 1 HD. The D20 SRD suggests a CR9 elemental would have ~24 HDs, so if that is the intent ok.
However, I suspect that turning elementals is not WAI, and is not counting some factors — such as Cleric past lives, or “seek eternal rest” (+4 sacred) buff, or equipment & enhancement boosts to turning? In this example the “applied turn” for the elemental seemed to be at least 5 less than the turn calculation shown if the elemental CR and HD roughly match. (Ties go to the Cleric). To keep things simple I suggest turning elementals respect all the same boosts and buffs to turning that benefit turning undead.
