Default Looking to do the Ascension Chamber Raid…

I’m looking to do the Ascension Chamber Raid tonight. We’re looking to start forming the group up at around 8:00pm ET. Please look on group finder or /tell Glorasea to get in on it.

    - Please be flagged.
    - I’m not looking to lead this, merely organize it.
    - All that I ask for in return is for someone to allow me to grab Unwavering Ardency (it’s BoP), if I don’t get it.

Even though your post set off the reptile part of my brain, I still hope you get a group together. That raid is rarely run now on Khyber but it's a good one.

    Just to be clear though

    * You don't want to lead the raid (possibly because you don't know how it works)

    * For the privilege of joining your group, which will be led by someone else, and for helping you complete something you can't do by yourself you want a rare and valuable item to be passed to you.

For me anyway, this is pretty much the ideal set of conditions under which I would NOT join a group, unless it was for someone I already knew and liked or for someone I didn't know but had seen behaving unselfishly in other groups.

Even if you get a group together it's not very likely UA will drop in one run for anyone.

For that reason, instead of attempting to charge people to join your group by reserving loot in advance, it might be worth learning how the raid works instead so you can lead it.

That way you can teach and help other people by running it regularly. You might also want to make it clear that you are willing to pass other named items to people who are looking for them.

But like I said before, good luck with it. May I suggest the following text for your LFM: "Elite, looking for others to run raid for me and don't want to lead, pass your loot to me".

    Thanks.

I agree with this. It sounds like: "I don't know the raid, but I want the loot. I want you to lead me through it. In return for me allowing you to do this for me [???] I want you to pass me the thing I'm looking for."

Rare yes, but valuable? No. I think he would actually be better off not saying anything about loot reservation as that weapon is so meh in today's game and surpassed by random lootgen I doubt that anyone else would want it

Yes this is correct, I played Paladins, even pure Paladins before Update 23!!!

I'll join you, but only if you promise not to do any leading at all. Out of sheer gratitude for putting up an LFM and allowing me to carry you, I will give you 20 raid timer bypasses as well as all my loot. If that's not enough, I'll also walk your dogs, wash and wax your car(s) and strangle one of your real life enemies.

For heroic levels, the bow has pretty good damage, crit profile, and the blur effect is useful too. But no, possibly it's not the prize it used to be. I think it was also available from those anniversary boxes, so now people have even less reason to do this raid unfortunately.

When my main was a ranger, didn't have this loot, and was still learning the raid, I wouldn't have joined a group like this. That would be because I'd be worrying about the raid failing from lack of leadership and there being drama about taking loot that I wanted for myself.

Now that I know the raid and have all the loot from it that I want, I can't see any reason to join either. Even though I would normally be quite happy to join and put named stuff up for roll to help others, I find groups where someone tries to reserve loot in advance and gives the distinct impression they want to be carried by strangers to be very off-putting.

    Thanks.

any reason to run the abbot is welcome.
Since my comeback I haven't seen run any often, yea I heard the good stuff has been distributed for ten'th anniversary. Well I miss some stuff on my other toon, so am looking forward to run it again, maybe arrive at 20 completions.
And no you can't haz my stuffs, though the bow I already have on my range character, though I don't use it much often..

FWIW, I joined 2 of my guildies that needed favor to help the OP complete his raid (after previous attempt had an asteroid wipe). Had a full group of twelve. Guildie asked that they do on elite and not hard as someone had entered on for best results. I knew strange things were afoot when I went through ice and said that I'd put the islands at 7. Quite a few in the group didn't know what/where that meant. Someone explained what an analog clock looks like. A guildie did goggles using the wing method solo since the chances of getting guided was nil. During one of the beatdowns between goggle collection Abbot calls inferno. Ice island went up and myself and one other person used it and a couple others just used trinket/cloak instead. Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding. People asking where the SP went, etc. I don't mind running with people that are new, but at least say that it's your first time so things could be explained. Also, maybe do some recon on the wiki or Youtube first. Raid completes. First thing in party chat is "someone" typing "Bow is mine". Passed my Seal of the Abbot and completed my public service hoping that at least some people learned enough to enjoy doing it next time.

For a while I think hard was the preferred choice because the loot table for elite was either not working quite right or was diluted by tomes. That was a long time ago though and I'm not sure if anything's changed.

It sounds like a frustrating run, but it was very nice of you and your guildy to join and drag it through to a completion. I hope that the group leader and others unfamiliar with the raid realised the favour you did them and thanked you both for your help.

    Take care.

I'm looking to do the raid, just to get to that altar and upgrade my silver flame stuff. Did it 4 times on this life, so I am starting to learn it.

My main is flagged for heroic Abbot as well on Khyber, and I'd love to pike/"help" get some completions on him. I'd say I'd legit help, but I'd probably be lying. Looks like the OP already did the raid, but if anyone else is organizing, count me in.

If there are people interested, sure, on Saturday. A guildie (maybe 2?) will join too if we play it not very late (we are europeans). All newies to the raid are welcome. I can teach them if necessary and we can not get a better guide (I can guide and I have done before, but you need to have patience with my English; better if a native speaker want guide).

Cordo, I have taught an eleven-year-old child, and he proved to be quite competent on elite after only two attempts on normal. If an 11 year old can learn so fast, I'm sure any adult can do it too. I you want to play the raid, you can be very useful. Sure.

I would edit your post to reflect that you are interested in that item not that you expect it to be passed to you.

I am down to run this even if the OP isn't involved What time works for you since you are a few time zones away?
