Several times, starting last millennium. Always with some (often tabletop) game company or another, showing off a product. Origins as well!

It's been a few years since my last one, though.

My last Origins was in Baltimore in 1987 if I recall correctly. It might have been in '86 though. I've still got the program somewhere...

I was an official Stormbringer GM for Chaosium at that convention that year. It was a lot of fun!
Steve Howe was voted "Best Overall Guitarist" in Guitar Player magazine five years in a row (1977–1981) and in 1981 was the first rock guitar player inducted into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame.

    Default 1980s

I went several times in the 80s when the "Gen" part actually meant something because it was in Lake Geneva.

I remembering getting an early copy of the Thieve's world RPG in a 3 ring notebook (my first gencon 1981) that I won in a drawing. The auction was really great with some very rare items and I don't think a single item sold for more than $10.

And lots of role playing. There was some boardgaming, but it was mostly rpg scenarios including playing unreleased products which was fun.

I live in Wa, so for me it is Norwescon. Been to a few in the past. Always had fun helping run booths for smithies, artists, hosts. Loved the panels for all things creative. The outfits people come up with can be epic (both fail and win).

I got dragged kicking and screaming a few times to Gen Con, back when the Gen was more appropriate than it is today.

    Lots of fun memories.

Not in several years. I think my first was '98?
Then I went fairly regularly for several years after, and saw the transition from Milwaukee to Indianapolis. Last year I went was probably 2006 or so. Since moving to Phoenix, it's much, much farther away. That and I'm just not that into gaming as much as I was.

    Nice.

Similar here, but Judging Trading Card Games, so different room.

But the way, some of their rooms are bigger than a city block.
