Pretty much this. I don't have a gazillion cards but apart from the few I traded with someone who badly needed a certain card a month back, I still have all of them because I was not in need of the stuff yet. Now I will have to move them to the appropriate character (because BtC for much) and store all the items instead of keeping the cards in 1 bag.

I know why it is needed, but its sad anyway.

These are the cards from the Dungeons and Dragons 40th anniversary, correct? I think it coincided with 8 here....

Hrm well I'm a casual player and I haven't crunched any of my cards yet because I didn't get any of the rarer cards that I wanted and I was hoping that there would be a way in the future to get those again. Now I guess I have to go back and figure out what items I want to crunch for before it all becomes useless.

Edit: removing my comments about Turbine not being able to fix the card exploits.

I am in the same boat. The people who duped aren't in this position as they duped the rare cards, those who didn't dupe are screwed out of the nice rewards. They should just give everyone 1 IX and X to make up for the duping fiasco.

I did the exact same thing. Issues with Akami kept me away from DDO for many months. Upon return, I found myself with exactly 30 Anniversary Cards, 5 from each account in my personal Guild, and no way to earn more. Unfortunately, I did not receive the correct cards to make the Tomes I really want, so I threw them all in the bank, hoping for the event to return. I have never seen a card on the Kyhber Auction House, and I check most days. This is very disappointing.

If you ask nicely in Marketplace chat, I am 100% sure that someone will be happy to hook you up with cards I-VIII. If you're on Argonessen, PM me your character name that you want the cards on and I'll send you some.

I made a BUNCH of alt accounts trying to roll up the IX or X cards.

Also check by the Cross-Server trade thread. Several folks have cards on their 'alt' servers who might sell/trade a few.

I wish people would stop wholesale accusing everyone who still has cards as dupers my friends and I spend alot of plat and time getting our cards 100% legitimately and all these ridiculous changes just because a few people cheated are really ticking us off (no more cruncher in the bag, card exchange getting shutdown, etc.)

    This, why turn it off?

    This, why turn it off?
    This universaly lasted long enough.
I believe this is a appropriate time to end it now.

Every year, there should be something new. We have to understand turbine here too, some people did benefit from exploits. But, there is no way turbine will ban them all so easily. Do you think you could have done it better? Something like this happens, and turbine should be careful next time that's all. Let's hope for better event next time.

    I'll support turbine here

Default when does U24 go live?

maybe I missed it reading through here but did it give a date when U24 is expected to go live? our guild meets weekly for events and want to use that time to trade cards around, so would be nice to have a more accurate time frame

    thanks

    Boo,
I don't want to be forced into using up all my cards now..
Wasn't this supposed to be a long term game play option to trade and mix cards to get various things without having it be restricted to character/accounts.
    Saving some for future opportunities..
I realize there was exploiting going on that caused issues.. but why punish everyone else.

could you not just change the card system so that the bags don't hold more than 25 card stacks and have cards not stack in inventory at all.
anyone with more than 25 card stacks in the bag just loses the excess cards ( use them up by the deadline), any stacks in inventory get deleted.

    Question Mournlanders

    Cordovan,

Will Card 11 also get nuked, the Mournlands Card? As it doesn't make anything, but is nice to have and link as a badge of honor from time to time.

The cards are not nuked... The cruncher will stop working.

Card XII will still be there...

Thank you for the heads up on the crunching Cordovan. I am madly crunching all of my cards on all servers.

The way I read this whole thread is that the cruncher will not work but everything I have from it will remain.

Which is like Risia Ice Games, I still have white, blue, purple coins, and all of my recipes, I just cannot crunch anything.

Which is like Festivult, I still have cookies, cookie jar, Copper, Gold, Silver coins, there just is no Jester.

This was the best birthday event ever.

from a post I made earlier on the cards on their percentage for you to get one, it shows how truly rare it is to get a card IX or card X

My data is not perfect. I did burn some cards for +3 Ability tomes and +3 Skill tomes and I don't remember what characters, what server, or how many. If Turbine does this next year, I will be more prepared as this was the trial run.

I will just list percentages as that will reflect more closely than quantity. I know I burned more 1s and 8s than any other cards before I kept track.

    Card I = 11.35%
    Card II = 12.33%
    Card III = 10.87%
    Card IV = 13.78%
    Card V = 12.14%
    Card VI = 14.88%
    Card VII = 13.11%
    Card VIII = 11.17%
    Card IX = 0.18%
    Card X = 0.18%

My Total for getting either the IX or X = 0.36%, 1 in 275 cards

My odds of getting a IX = 1 in 550 cards

    My odds for getting a X = 1 in 550 cards

I had been posting since March 17 or so that I thought the odds were 1 in 500

    001-996 = Card 1 thru Card VIII
    997-998 = Card IX
    999-1000 = Card X

I understand that DUPERS have ruined what was supposed to to be a great thing. But, why do honest players have to pay the price?
