Any chance of u24 including a retroactive change to make the rods of teleport & the bracelets of friends from the cards bound to account instead of character? you know, like every other store-bought item? My bank mule now has a load of space taken up by them & I really don't wanna waste the things by just trashing them.

Wow, I'm really annoyed right now. I read this post, and decided to just crunch the rest of my cards, and get it over with, before they go poof. I got down to 2 III and 2 IV cards, to make 4 Rods of Teleportation. Crunch the cards once, crunch them twice, and then hover my mouse over them... Bound to Character! I am so irritated. Had I known they were BtC, I would have crunched the cards with a different character (if that was even possible), since I don't need 4 Rods of Teleportation on my level 26 Pale Master...

When we celebrated DDO’s 8th Anniversary earlier this year, we debuted a system that allowed players to collect Anniversary Cards and then use them in an Eldritch Card Cruncher to receive various rewards. Now that we’re approaching the end of the year and the release of Update 24, it’s time to bring this celebration to a close.


When Update 24 is released, Anniversary Cards will no longer be able to be used in the Eldritch Card Cruncher, although any leftover cards can be added to your Image Gallery. If you still have any leftover cards from the Anniversary Event, please make sure to claim the rewards you are looking for prior to the release of Update 24. Thanks!

This issue should have been fixed in Update 23 Patch 1. Did you experience this issue after October 27th?

I haven't but, the 9 & 10 cards I had in my gallery will never be replaced since they were gone before the fix.

yes, I did an ETR followed by an HTR right when CC ended - I didn't check the image gallery after the ETR but prior to the ETR. After the HTR the image gallery was empty.

Actually did ETR followed by HTR on another character very close to the 27th also - unsure if before or after on that character though - and also unsure if image gallery was empty after the HTR - have since repopulated the image gallery on both characters so I can't go check either.

Too little too late.

Dupers will have stacks upon stacks of Timers, Augments, XP pots, Cakes. Shrines, Jewelers kits, Tornado pots, and whatever else they deem to be valuable to crunch before U24.

This should have happened on the last day of the event. It still would not have stopped the dupers but, it would have at least limited them.

Dupers were exploiting the Cards this will stop that but, not solve the duping of other things

Now I have to finally decide what to make with them. Wasn't the crunching supposed to keep working as long as you had cards to crunch?

My only problem with this is that I only had one card X. I used it to make card XI. Then I TR'd before it was fixed. So now I'm SOL in getting that card in my gallery

Agreed but it's a step in the right direction. It won't solve duping but it will limit dupers a bit.

Important question: Will there be a 9th anniversary event with new/more cards that just changes the recipes? As in, is there any reason whatsoever to save any cards? Is this a warning to use them now before they become completely useless, or just use them now before the recipes change?

If its a use them before useless forever, can we destroy the bag/box/dice? Or do they need to sit in inventory forever just in case you guys use it again later?

Just wanting clarity over what youre telling us we should do here. Dont want to use or toss them only to find out theyre useful again next year. Thanks.

My guess is, throw the stuff away. I can't imagine Turbine wanting to open this can of worms again.

Also perhaps not cards that give store items. The Eternal Flasks would be great ideas, if it weren't for the whole shared cool down foolishness. Perhaps clickies? I would love to have a Mass Longstrider clicky if only 1 charge, maybe a lowest caster level firewall clicky, exclusive, 3 charges. Actually, make any named clickies of this type exclusive.
