Default Completionist Dilemma – Rogue life

    Completionist Dilemma – Rogue life
So, for my static group, it’s my turn to handle the traps and I still need my rogue life. The other players in the group are going to be playing Sorc, Pali, and Favoured Soul. I was hoping to try something a little different than usual, so I was thinking:

Dwarf – D-axe dual wielding, throw weight around
10 rogue - traps, umd, and improved evasion
7 wizard – Eldritch Knight with tensors, and vamp form from pale master
    2 fighter – for 2 feats
    St 14
    Dex 14
    Con 18
    Int 16
    Wis 12
    Char 6
(I've got + 4 tomes on everything and 36 point build)
Lots of cleaves, self healing (death aura), buffs etc...
Anyone play anything like this? What did you think? What do you suggest? Am I missing something?

    • Well, you'll put a lot of AP into Dwarf and EK, and probably want a few Rogue things, so there won't be much left for PM. Along with the low caster level, your Death Aura self-healing won't be very strong.
    • Consider if you had Cleric4 instead of Wiz7: you'd have Ameliorating Strike for self-healing which works on your teammates as well, and which scales with character level and with TWF. (Costs fewer levels than Vamp Form, but more AP)
    • Having a lot of Cleaves is less valuable when you are TWF.
    • Maybe you already have some strong Dwarf Axes and this doesn't matter, but with that level split I'd really prefer the better crits from Dagger or Kukri (using Assassin as your tier5).

The others will be aggro machines. go pure. Enjoy rogueness.
Also note that the trapping xp quest bonus is going way up with the next update, so consider investing in some mechanic tree and elven/drow Nothing is hidden to speed things up

yeah, I was kinda wondering about the undead thing... I guess that healing (or whatever you want to call it) with the aura and pots is the weak spot.

I could definitely see cleric levels working out. Bit bummed that the eldritch thing couldn't be fit in there though, 'cause it looked pretty neat...

The EK tree is pretty blah, IMHO; perma-Tensors is convenient, but it's not worth the AP cost, esp. since it can be scrolled on a UMD toon. And if you're going TWF Assassin, you need a really good reason not to take Knife Spec and use daggers instead. ["All my TR cache weapons are axes!" is a pretty good reason, I'll admit. ]

A heavy FvS or cleric splash for Ameliorating Strike is certainly tempting; although with a FvS in your static group, the extra healing is probably unnecessary. Maybe something like rog 10 / rgr 6 / FvS 4?
