    Default DDO Launcher says “Waiting”

I keep trying to play ddo, but my launcher only gets as far as Connect, were it is stuck on “Waiting.” I have looked over the internet and have tried several things that I found, like running “Fix” on the wizard, and also clicking “Run as Administrator” in the ddo program folder. Is there any other advice that you can give me that doesn’t involve uninstalling and downloading again? …

When you mean stuck on waiting, do you mean its on the next graphic display with the empty line near the bottom and the text "Loading...please wait"? If so, try pressing ESC and if that doesn't work restart the client again, and if that doesn't work you'll have to submit a ticket to Tech Support at http://support.turbine.com.

If that's not the place/problem, exactly what are you seeing, and what do you mean by "fix" on the "wizard", which fix and which wizard?

Or maybe this has to do with Steam? I know zero about steam. You can run DDO from outside of steam directly. You will want to run Turbineinvoker.exe (or on some systems TurbineLauncher.exe) in Administrator mode, clicking on the folder itself will not have any impact.

Had this problem on a second computer I hadn't used in a long time. The only thing that fixed it was a reinstall, I think the launcher was too far out of date in my case.

Yeah. That's what I wound up doing uninstalling it. Then downloading it again and running it. Works now!

    Tanks!

Balrogskin: Here's a DDO tech support article on the problem you are having, at least it's a place to start.

It basically suggests to be sure that IE is set to WORK ONLINE and that you might have a corrupt .NET 1.1 and 1.1 hotfix.

Depending on what windows you are running, reinstalling .NET 1.1 and the hotfix might be different, someone in the forums here more well versed in the latest windows can help, or I can search for it when there's more time.

(Note, .NET 1.1 and the 1.1 hotfix are completely independent of other ".NET" numbers and can completely and safely coexist with all of them. They are not "versions" in the true sense of the word.

    Hope this helps!
