Default My character: Denefen Do’Urden or... Drizzt Do'Urden

my drow character is based on the main character of the books Forgotten Realms. I try to generate the famous Drizzt Do’Urden, the only one chaotic-good alligned drow on the Faerun. Let’s see the PG:

RACE: drow elf ALIGNMENT: chaotic good GENDER: male

CLASS: fighter 4 (in future ranger and barbarian)

    STR: 16 (12 +1 feat bonus, +3 enchanted bonus)

    DEX: 23 (19 +1 feat bonus, +3 enchanted bonus)

    COS: 13 (10 +3 enchanted bonus)

    INT: 14

    WIS: 14

    CHA: 10

SKILLS: skill points on spot, search, balance, hide, move silently, tumble, jump, swim

FEATS: two weapon fighting, two weapon defense, oversized two weapon fighting, dodge, combact expertise

ENHANCEMENT: fighter armor boost II, fighter haste boost I, elven dexterity I, elven enchantment resistance I, fighter strategy (sunder) I, fighter strategy (trip) I, iron companion (guenhwyvar), fighter item defense I, improved repair II, fighter strenght I

WEAR: ARMOR: +2 blueshine chainmail shirt, FOOTWEAR: striding (+15%) boots, GLOVES: ogre power +3 gloves, RINGS: feather falling ring, desterity +3 ring, ARMBANDS: BELT: healt +3 belt, CLOAK: cloak of hide +5, GOOGLES: googles of spot +5, HEADWEAR: NECKLACE: TRINKET: neecha’s bead

WEAPONS: +2 shock longsword of everbright/+2 frost longsword of fire resistance (for now, i don’t have those); +2 keen composite longbow; +2 adamantine returning throwing dagger

ARMOR CLASS: 24 (+6 armor, +5 dexterity, +1 two weapon defense, +2 combact expertise) + 11 fighter armor boost II (another +1 combact expertise) = 35

this is the link for my character (he may be different from this description): http://my.ddo.com/character/thelanis/denefen/

i will edit this post, but know, do you like this kid-character? have you some advice for the evolution of my PG?

    Saddly, probalby true.

But you know... many of us emulate and copycat a hero of some form before creating our own. It is just a stage of growing.

Op, for the sake of fun in the game, drop a point or two of dex, and put it into Con. You'll want the hit points. This game isn't like the books you read.

Hopefully the tone of the posts will warn the haters away. Have a blast with Drizzt! But be warned: the iron companion may lack the intelligence of an extra dimensional planar being. And it will spew grease and make you fall over.

My 8 year old nephew likes playing. He has serious alt-itis and starts over after he gets past Korthos everytime.

Cool theme, everyone's tried it, but I think everyone should, so have fun.

Question, the '1996' in your name, is that the year you were born? 'Cause wow, seriously... didn't know teens played this game.

    Cool!

My 8 year old boy just started playing 5 months ago with me

He has watched me play for a long time. Even named a few of my characters....Charllie Bear His stuffed bear he has had since he was 2.

I wouldn't have said that on an open forum that he would ever read, but since I block these forums due to their vile and hateful ways, I am in no danger of him ever seeing that I told the DDO world about his stuffed animal

    Good luck OP.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. Heck, I had two beavers when I was a kid. One named Gopher, the other named Bonk. Heck, I still have them.

    I agree

I still have lots of stuffed animals. I even get gifted giant size animals by my husband. I am still a child at heart. Not a bad thing

It's funny because he does get embarrassed, but they still are all over his bed at night

I still have a little cat I got when I was just a wee one...he's got barely any beads left, his whiskers are gone, has one eye and is faded as hell but still has a place of honor on my headboard (It's got a little lip i use for my book, drinks etc.)

OP: Try to start with at least 12 con - you will really need it. The enchanted bonus is temporary and from gear and shouldn't be counted (also goes up to 6 and then 7 or 8 by level 25). You can count tomes (+1/+2) on tip of that (so 12 + +2 tome eventually is decent). Take toughness. Two weapon fighting is not a good feat. O***, combat expertise isn't that great either. Take toughness. Take the full TWF line and have the prereqs for it (you do, dex 17 afaik), so two more feats for the TWF line. Take a improved critical of your choice weapon (slash or piercing). Take toughness. YOU WILL NOT REGRET

Also Drizzt - pfft, Elric ripoff

with 12 levels of ranger he won't need TWF/ITWF/GTWF. he'll get them for free, freeing up his feat slots for all kinds of interesting things. toughness definitely. imp crit slash (for the scimitars) definitely. combat expertise is so so, but combined with the free feats and the fighter bonus feats one or two 'not-so-great' feats aren't too bad. as long as he has the essentials. CE also opens up access to improved trip, which might be handy with the lower str. since his dex will be high... he *might* want to consider weapon finesse to help his to-hit, but this is questionable. cleave/greater cleave are also options... i have recently discovered their joy and will be working to incorperate it into more of my own builds in the future. ^_^
since he would need spring attack for tempest anyway, and he already has CE currently, whirlwind attack is another possibility

True, all good points, I was assuming pure fighter, to be honest The cleave chain is a better idea than finesse, otwf, etc I agree. They rock, esp the epic versions.

I was born in 1996, and I have met many teenagers who play this game.

To the OP....good luck, because I know quite a few people *cough* me *cough* who get irritated every time they see the name Do'urden in game. But whatever rocks your boat.

forum rules prevent me from voicing my opinion fully, other than to say that I loath dritz with a passion and am dissapointed by people copying others characters ideas.

    I shall therefore say:

Dear op, i would recomend you make a character of your own design, with its own unique background. It will be a much more rewarding roleplayign experience for you - if you character has met drizzle in his past and even been inspired by fighting style and ethics that would be cool.

I like how people say this all the time when someone posts a Drizzt build, but no one ever says that when it's a build based off of some other character.

I do I say it's best to always be original and not base on anything but your own mind but people are free to do as they wish but when they copy they shouldn't be surprised when people poke fun nice that people in this thread are being pretty nice

If you want to make a "Drizzt" that'll not be terrible go 12 fighter/6 ranger/2 rogue.

It's far from optimal but won't be awful.

    S: 16
    D: 15 (need +2 tome)
    C: 15
    I: 10
    W: 8
