Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition

Not sure what to make of this yet, but Overhaul Games has announced Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is to be released this summer.

Baldur's Gate was one of the best DND games ever. I wast... errr I mean Enjoyed many Hours playing that game.

I might actually be interested in that if and only if the game was converted to more manageable dnd version. AD&D is just too annoying to put up with, especially after playing games following 3 and 3.5 rules.

To me BG was and always will be the greatest RPG. Spent many hours playing. DDO though for me is the Closest thing to BG so do love the Game...

No conversion of any kind, I'm afraid. BGEE is not a "remake" or "reimagining" of Baldur's Gate; it *is* the original game, running under a tweaked version of the Thone of Bhaal Infinity engine and with a modest amount of new content by the BGEE team. In spirit BGEE seems fairly similar to Tutu (BG1 in the BG2 engine).

If all goes well, the plan is for the BGEE team to release a tweaked version of BG2 and then begin work on BG3...

Some thing I always liked was the randomness to the game depending on what choices you made. You could have a completely different encounter. There was so many variables
Depending on what NPC you had in your Party. I would spawn a different scenario. Now they say MoTU will be like this so I am hoping DDO is headed to a more random story.

You may have a long wait since they currently plan on the PC version being exclusive to Beamdog.
