Arrow New Player Raid Training – Titan (Twilight Forge and The Titan Awakes)

Are you a new player wanting to try a bit of raiding? That’s awesome!

Unfortunately you face a few obstacles.

When LFM’s for raids do appear, leaders tend to presume that you’ve
ran the raid hundreds of times and they lose sight of what it’s like to be new
to the raid. They then yell at you for not “just knowing what I want you to do”
or otherwise being a mind reader.

My goal is to help alleviate this issue and run some training for raids which
have become problematic for the PUG scene. Having fun is a big plus as well.

If you are interested please respond to this thread with your character you
want to bring and short description of your build. (class split, race, PRE)

All directions will be given via spoken English. If this is an issue to disability,
language barrier, etc please let me know ahead of time and we can
    probably make appropriate arrangements.

If the list fills up please sign up anyhow in case other people cancel.

Mandatory Things to Bring: (I will ask you to link items when joining, you don’t get in without them)

    All characters
    100% Fortification
    Balance Item (preferably +15)
    Underwater Action

Completed Sigil of Dal-Quor, acquired by completing:
    Hiding in Plain Sight
Bring Me the Head of Ghola Fan
    Slavers of the Shrieking Mines

A notepad of some sort, video and/or screenshots
may help as well. Most of this raid is puzzles, so try
to remember what you can and record the rest.

    Melee
    ???

    Arcane
    Dimension Door
    Jump
    Disintegrate
    Haste
    Blur
    Greater Heroism
    Resist Energy

    Divine
    Mass Deathward
    Resist Energy
Resurrection or True Resurrection (don’t use raise dead)

Optional Things That are Really Nice:
    DR
Healing Amplification (healer friend for warforged)
AC (60-70ish+ or don’t worry about it)
Clikies – (items that cast spells on you, Greater Heroism, Deathward, etc in case you die and need to be rebuffed)
Potions – Resist Fire/Sonic/Elec 20 (again, in case you become deceased and need to rebuff when raised)
Potions – Cure/Repair Serious, Silver Flame (help out healers a bit and/or save yourself in an emergency)
Regeneration – Tasty Ham, Pouch of Jerky, etc. “Trickle” healing in this raid is helpful
Be Mildly Sober – A drink or two is OK, just don’t come trashed

Things I Don’t Want You To Use:
Mnemonic Potions – It’s important to learn how to raid without relying on these,
as it’s highly likely they will be placed on a large timer someday.

We will have a Special Guest Star to lead this run!

Kages has graciously volunteered to show (in excruciating detail)
how the pre-raid and raid work.

I guess it's up to Kages, but you should teach green/yellow the "legitimate" way

Of note, if you never learned Titan inside/out (like me)
feel free to sign up. Don’t let the “new player” stigma
deter you from getting some righteous twink TR gear.

Sign up cathrias, 20 sorc, but if I'm not on time, fill my spot with someone else, cause it means I'm at work.

Also will you be showing people how to get through the wilderness to the raid area, or just taxing them there thru the sub? Not asking for myself, as I know the way, but figured it how to get there might be a point you could mention.

I have always been interested in running this raid, but have one question:

What is the minimum level you would accept into this group? What is the maximum?

I will try to flag a character based upon your response

Kages has the star, I’m going to do what I do best…avoid responsibility!

12-20, maybe lower, I don’t remember the min to get into the quest.

Puzzles are the biggie here not monsters. A good jump+balance is the
    key for this one.

Last I checked, "Hiding in Plain Sight" required level 7. Not sure if Slavers/Head have higher requirements, but I've ran them on a level 9 way back in the day.

You can flag as early as level 10, possibly 9. I would recommend at least level 10 or 11 before stepping into the raid if you will be performing one of the jobs. Hiding in Plain Sight to get onto the Restless Isles, bribe or social skill Karn to be granted chapter 1 of the raid, then run Slavers of the Shrieking Mines and Bring Me the Head of Ghola-Fan (remember the secret door in the back of the treasure room!), then talk to the vendor and have him repair your sigil.

Tobril: Don't forget that the laser and crystals remain active post-completion to let people practice those two jobs.

I would also probably be available if you need me.

will be happy to help with any of the puzzle sides, if you have a spot. Should also help me collect more screenies for the raid guide I am working on. And I need another pair of gloves and a gown.
Will get either rogue, caster or melee.

I will flag one of my healers, either cassiekat or lainith and run with you. I know the puzzles relatively well, although it has been a while. I don't know any other roles in the raid but healing. Will be nice to run this one again, been sorely missed.

    oh right - my character

lainith is an 18/2 clonk. 500ish hps, lvl 20. healing build designed to be able to stay alive.
cassiekat is currently 13/2 fvs/fighter shes a dr healing build, dwarf, sitting at 420 hp at 15.

    Do you have a preference?

Okay, would love to join based on your replies. Will most likely bring either Micaril (level 20 drow artificer) or Gavrok (level 11 warforged favored soul). If I bring Gavrok, he should be at least level 15 by then...

Also, how long will the preraid and raid take? I have to go at 10, and this starts at 8 for me

Fast runs of the pre-raid average about 30 minutes, with the raid running 10-20 minutes, depending on how cooperative the Titan is. Since this is a training run, I expect it to take at least an hour for the pre-raid. There is a lot of information Kages will have to cover about the three major puzzles.

I guess how long it takes really depends on the party. It is certainly a complex raid and preraid and I've seen it take a long time when people can't follow instructions. I imagine you would okay with your time limit if everyone does what they're meant to ^_^.
