My point is after 5-6 of the same handful of epics over the day/night/weekend, pugging 2 or 3 slots and running into the same list problems he turned to a tool in hope to smooth out some speed bumps. That doesn't mean he is a bad guy. He was tired of hammering rusty nail in to his naughty parts.

For some reason the idea of looking someone up on myddo offends you. Thats cool. I don't/wouldn't do it. But I trust Tobril to make the call when he is the leader. If it was your LFM I would do the same for you. That said I know he doesn't make the call on allowing someone into a group based on myddo.

But Myddo is still a tool at one's disposal, if one decides to use it. No more evil then a screw driver/hammer/gun it is all about how you use said tool.

Ben's been grinding cove, he put epics on hold until after he was done (at least that was his indication the other day when I was running with him).

Makes sense. I fully expect to see his 4-5 runs a day starting up again once he needs to fill his cove item slots. Will be nice to do Small Problem again.

Because of CC people could get epic gear without ever stepping into an epic quest. Prior to this, they could not.

1 – I said nothing of the sort about requiring epic gear to run epics.

2 – My barbarian has ZERO shroud gear and is an acceptable alt when others are on timers

3 – Shroud and most epic weapons are inferior to special purpose random lootgen weapons I’ve picked up over the years
(+5 vicious greatclub of GCB, matching holy greater dragon bane khopeshes /w icy burst, etc)

Too lazy to find the thread right now, but someone did the calcs, and a +5 Axiomatic Burst, Risia Icy Burst, Greataxe of Greater Dragon Bane did similar or less damage than a Lit II. (provided you had the to-hit to hit with both on all rolls but 1)

Not sure exactly how well that transfers over to Khopeshes, but sometimes I wonder just how useful our "Special purpose" weapons are.

In fact the pirate hate is nice to consolidate two normally found attributes onto one item such as concentration and fortification or one rare item which would be superior false life plus a skill of some type. Toughness can be slotted onto the Epic Cavalry Plate.

If the user had 0 fort and 300 hp it's because they had that BEFORE the event. And they still have 0 fort and 300 HP afterwards.

The hats are awesome.

The problem is that people slap a few toys on their barely gianthold/vale-class character and expect to be uber because their gear is "epic".

More likely these are people who didn't even think about running epics much before but now they have epic gear and need tokens to slot the gear.

Admirable really, just please keep Minos ON until you have heavy fort elsewhere! I don't care how good your pirate hat is for your build!

The OP hit it right on the head.....

getting your Epics from non epic content does not make you an Epic caliber player.

Those players actually ran tons of regular raids for powerful loot and obtained their epic items from doing REAL EPIC content.

The level 25 CC dungeon was not by any means Epic at all.

Not complaining about the event, I loved it, and made a ton of epic items, but it's just like the ViP elite open unlock, you have all these new players that think they can just jump into elite dungeons and be fine......makes pugging in this day and age a nightmare.

Where are the Quantum Entropy-hosted "Learner Shroud/HoX/VoD/Epic [Insert Name Here] LFMs"?

I don't see you guys nearly as often as I used to, and I've been lurking my way into pugs incognito lately. That leads me to speculate that:

1. The Guild has shrunk.
2. The Guild runs in-house quests and raids, and would rather short-man than pull a Pug in.
3. Blind chance preventing me from coming across any LFMs.

I'm guessing the middle option...

It's actually more of 1 & 3. I can't recall anyone ever leaving QE, but there are more people than usual taking a break. There are also several of us on the TR-train, so there just aren't as many of us raiding as usual. That being said, I still see the rest of them forming up for stuff every night the same way we always have, and I believe it usually ends up with an LFM to fill at least a couple of spots.

LOL I don't even MYDDO when I pug Epics. . .I ended up with a Non Stunning Monk, and a QUARTER STAFF using Ranger for EPic Claw last week--we kill everything--and we still finished--it took us 10 mins longer but we did it. . .even with my GIMP Low SP non TR caster.
