I would spend hours lfg or starting groups to get one good one that could get me around 2000xp from finishing a single quest.

Recommendation, Turbine needs to start thinking of its games as tv show if I or any other customer don’t like what we are seeing we will change the channel with out secound thought. the days of the horrible grind are nearly over.

As someone who rerolls a ton, and even had one character spend over a year at lvl 8-11 (by choice!), I can tell you it is NOT hard to get something together at lvl 8-11.

What IS hard is finding 3 melees, a bard, a caster, and a cleric, all willing to do the exact quest you want on the difficulty you want. Cant get more than 2 others? Everyone gets a hireling (Didnt even have those when most of my characters went throgh the lvl 8-11 window). Take the first 3 or 4 applicants, and roll with it, dont wait 2 hours for a cleric (mistake most players make).

Worst case you go hunting in tangleroot, sorrowdusk, or the three barrel cove (with a hireling cleric if you need the healing) for slayer/explorer/rares exp. these three are extremely easy to solo (I finished off the slayers there as a lvl 4 dex rogue, no hirelings, rarely other party members). I think you can get from lvl 1 to 16 purely on explorer area exp now, though of course the higher level areas (everything past ataraxias haven) are challenging for the solo melee, and past gianthold are a pain for the non-spellcasters.

I have heard its going to be a bust on subs since the game got released.

Dungeons and Dragons is not about solo. DOO is not about solo. That does not mean that you can not solo. There are plenty of discussions on this board on how to.

I've never had any issue finding groups even in that horrible horrible 8 - 11 range. If you aren't filling fast enough go to the who list and send tells to those NOT in party to see if they'd like to run. Sometimes that doesn't fill it fast enough. We'll often 4 or 5 man something as well. Of course by the time you are 8th level there is a hope that you have made some friends along the way if you run well and are fun to be around. Often times my friends will see us with an lfm up and switch to a toon that can go with us even if they were about to log off or something. We've often been told people watch or look for our lfm's. It's not about getting there quickly, it's about the people you meet and the impression you make along the way. Sorry to see you go but this is more of a social game.

Tempest, Vons 1-6, Thernal 1-9, GH walkups These give a alot more than 2K and don't take an hr to fill.

At 8 you could still do delaris elite and storm cleave elite.

In fact level 10-11 alot do Madstone and crucible. Slow run is about 30 min and what 25K xp? And usually these groups will hit 3-4 GH quests in arrow without breakup.

And also isn't +10% xp still on? + delaris trinket =+15% xp vs what it was normally in the past lol

mmo= massive multiplayer its based on dnd which is 99% grouping there is some solo though you just hve to learn how to do it but I would much rather group with a fair group then solo

Even i have had no issues with the dreaded 8-11 range, hit 10 last night, and all i really do is try to run favor instead of leveling, and when i play, i usually have a baby in the bouncy seat bouncing or sleeping, lol..

Side note: i still keep your butts healed while bouncing the baby w/ my cleric.. (except all those i have to resurrect )

Probably not the best way to vent your frustration. Had you come to these forums and said, I am having trouble finding groups between 8-11 levels, does anyone have any suggestions - you would have had a much better response.

That being said, there are some good suggestions in this thread.

Yes, some quests have bad xp. Some are long. Some are unpopular. It sounds like you had a bad night. When that happens, make an alt and relax a little - it is nice to have multiple characters at different ranges to take advantage of the lfms that are up. If you are not getting responses to your lfm - try to think of why.

Ask a friend or guildmate. If you are not in a guild, look around and group with some and see how it goes.

If it takes you more than 30mins to fill a group in that level range, then either you are doing one of the hell quests (faithfull departed, east threnal 3), or you have already gotten a reputation for best being avoided. From your post, I would bet on the latter.
