Remove the Signet Stone requirement from The Thirteenth Eclipse chain

Seriously, please remove the requirement for forging a signet stone from this chain. Completing the quests should be enough for flagging. I'm tired of having to go back and solo Rainbow because it was (poorly) designed without taking into consideration that some people are buttheads who, when carrying the torch, don't bother to help party members get to the end, and just leave them when they get lost or stuck.

I mean, I don't really need the **** stone. I need to get into the shroud to finish stuff I started last life.

Umm. No it's not hard to reflag once per life

Your gripe is misplaced. Its not the flagging process you have a problem with but with the players running the quest.

Please do not change this. This is one of the best chains and raids in the game.

You can use the same signed stone life after life after life, make 1 or 2 and just keep it so you don't have to do it again ;)

I agree with the others about you misplacing your gripe.

Personally I don't like leaving people behind and prefer that everyone makes it to the end. There are some quests where it is easy to lose party members such as Rainbow In the Dark.

I think what really needs to be done is for the community to stop treating other players as hirelings and actually take some time to look back and make sure everyone makes it past rough spots even if it means you have to go back and get them.

Part of the issue is that people have lost the concept of being respectful to each other and instead focus too much on the XP/Min aspect and gain a complex that others should be grateful they get to come along.

Now this goes both ways, if you are new to a quest or do get left behind you need to speak up. You need to also take responsibility if you get distracted by some quest objective or shiney that caused you to be left behind.

The only other recommendation I have is group with people who have the "No party Member Left Behind Mentality" and practice that yourself. Especially since you know how it feels.

I'm going against the crowd here and agree with the OP. The Shroud is not bad as far as raids go, but the flagging quests include some of the most annoying and stupid mechanics ever devised. (I can't even imagine trying any of those on greater than normal with the GDF chumps in place...)

So yes, either adjust the horrible flagging quests or get rid of reflagging, please.

That wasn't what the OP was asking for. To flag for Shroud you need to a) complete all 5 flagging quests and b) talk to Valeria with a signet stone in your inventory (not in a bag)*

(* Which needs you to get 40 favor for the Twelve and complete her trivial experiment first, the former is guaranteed if you complete the flagging quests on normal or above, and the latter takes 60s and costs nothing to do)

The OP was complaining about requirement b), and it's been pointed out that an old signet stone from a past life works just as well as a newly minted one.

Some quests really need a "not all of your companions are here yet" tweak...

There is a map on everyone's screen.
If one or more blue dots are not next to each other, there is no excuse for not knowing.


I usually volunteer to carry the light.
...and once I have it, I will not leave anyone behind, or leave a dangerous dark spot until everyone else makes it past me.

People often join late though. The current polite(r) trend is to DDoor when getting the crest to go pick up any latecomers.
(still kinda sucks to have to wait at all, but the quest just isn't latecomer friendly....)

Rainbow is a quest I hesitate to join IP, because I know I might just end up piking and never getting to the end.



Rainbow makes something obvious that actually occurs in many parties, with less painful results....
The tendency to leave a dungeon before everyone makes it to the end chest.

I'll at least stay long enough to see your dot get past any known hazard spots.
(and I'll won't leave Tempest Spine til everyone gets their chests either)


I wish this community would take a strong stance on politeness.
(and impoliteness seems very related to the rush through dungeons mentality)(not to be confused with zerge BTW)

My guildy had exactly the same Thing happen to him two days ago on cannith.
The leaving you behind Thing (in rainbow) was pretty evil and Shows again that there are still escaped toddlers out there who haven´t gained experience in teamplay. Not your fault that you gave your heart away and got THAT. Never rely on strangers and DIY or with a friend at such quests.

Well, it is like it is. And i´m glad that this is the only arc what requires the "Get me X so you can go to Y" scheme. But it´s ok. Maybe it is outdated and Players should have the choice to just complete or complete with Stone for GS crafting.

If you want to change a flagging chain do it to the abbott. Each quest should be should be just like the shroud chain. Do a quest get a peice of the frame. Not have to run it overe and over Hate that set because of that.

It sounds to me you just need to run with better people. All five Vale quests are on my list of quests I will not run with PUGs. Because jerks can ruin you whole experience. I run solo or with Guild groups.

Personally, I like the flagging requirements for the Shroud. It adds a little uniqueness to it. So I vote for leaving it the way it is.

I use my extra stones to make GS blanks for guildies or to sell.
