A review of my build, please!

Hello!

Well, based on the threads, voodoogroves posted links to.. I've decided on trying a 11 Ranger / 9 Rogue build with my Warforged still focusing on using bows.

This build will give a lot of useful feats (especially Improved Precise Shot), which can make it alot easier to kill the magic users (who can be a pain, due to my low will saves) and groups of weaker monsters.

My criteria for the build is as following:

- 28 points, since i don't have access to 32 points.
- Warforged, mainly because it will be my first time to play this race.
- PrE: Deedwood Sniper I is chosen for its increase in dmg/range with the feat Point Blank Shot
- PrE: Rogue Mechanic I is chosen for its increase in the chance for getting parts from traps and for its increase in DC for the traps i'll make myself with the skill Repair Construct as a small "health" bonus.
- Bows, so not to waste a few feats and for flavor.

My opinion: I think you're on the cusp of something - but right now you're kinda in two worlds. You need to commit to bows or crossbows and build to do as best as you can with one of them. The build you're showing right now is kinda midling with either. Both have merits, and both styles have entered into the realm of mainstream viability. You can try to do well at each, but it isn't easy and will have a very tough road ahead.




I'd go with less WIS. You can get what you need to cast spells with items eventually. Extras into DEX if you want to get Precise Shot / Improved Precise Shot.

These are mostly focused on Crossbows, but I see you're looking at bows. Bows work too, but these days you're behind the curve with the AAs. The repeater will offer better consistent DPS output.

NOTE: Your self healing will be far better from UMDing scrolls and wands w/ your rogue skills than anything Mechanic can provide.
