The sphinx at the entrance to White Plume Mountain is called a "Gynosphinx". This is a sphinx with a woman's head, not a lion's head.

The art used for the Gynosphinx is based on the 5th edition version!
You can find it on page 282 of the 5th Edition Monster Manual.

But 'gyno-' refers to breasts, so unless we're talking about sphinxes with man tiddies....

Unfortunately, this is DDO not ADDO.
They fired the Game Wizards, now we just have a coastal variant who got their start gathering magic cards. :(

It could still be a female lion head...

It refers to womanhood, as in misogyny (anti woman), androgyny (man-woman), and gynecology (treating the...er, womanhood)
So if no part of the sphinx is womanly, then it's a poor gynosphinx lol
Looking at the art it looks like "gynosphinx" and "androsphinx" just refer to male and female winged lions...which seems an odd way to name them...I would just have called them leosphinxes
