So, have read a couple of times on the forums that Soundburst is going to cause Helpless, which is very useful.

However, relating to one of my ideas in Making Bards Rock thread (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/432802-Making-Bards-Rock-some-proposals-on-how-to-improve-bards), Bards need to be able to use one DC score for all their spells, since they are already DC challenged on enchantments, and max evo (even if you went that route) would be more points lower, without past lives.

I'd say they're doing it to buff divines as opposed to buffing bards (notice Greater shout and shout wont do the same). But I'll take what I can get, I do have an Evo specced bard that I tried as an experiment, might be time to dust him off.

Although quests like Xorian Cipher are gonna get a hell of a lot more interesting. Cant think of any other soundburst heavy mobs in the game...

Goes without saying.

I'd say they're doing it to buff divines as opposed to buffing bards (notice Greater shout and shout wont do the same).

Soundburst can "stun" enemies for up to 6 sec. "Stun" ordinarily makes a target helpless, so this is really just a bug fix.

Shout just does damage.

Greater Shout can "daze" enemies for up to 6 sec. "Daze" does not ordinarily render a target helpless.

So I think it's less an anti-Bard conspiracy than a bug fix.
