Are there any threads breaking down the DPS benefits of each and/or comparing them?

Ive only messed with em a bit on the dummy which after the first beat down wont stand up for more than a few blows. Anyhow it seems like the Greater sunburst proc is less light damage than the radiant blast. Greater sunburst procs Ive seen on dummy average 279-379 whereas the radiant blast is 350-500 ish.

LvL 24-+1 enhancment, 1d6 more light damage, +1[w] over the lvl 20's

LvL 20-+1-10 light damage on crits, radiant blast avg 150ish more light damage on proc than greater sunburst

If I got all the pros in for each I think just by eyeballing it the 24's are better, just dont understand why they changed the radiant blast to greater sunburst

Remember that radiant blast deals +100% damage to undead so if it looked like it was pulling ahead on the training dummy, imagine the results if you were hitting an actual undead mob with it.

I wish they had instead just added the sunburst effect to what was already there or if that were deemed too powerful, just upgrade it to a +7 weapon with inherent silver metal type but kept all the old lv 20 abilities.

To answer your question, yes, there are a couple threads where people compare the two handwraps, even detailed calculations.

And just to confirm, since there were conflicting reports, lvl 20 proc is no save, lvl 24 proc has a reflex save for half. (tested it personally, drow warrior in kings forest made the save so its not super high.)

Yeah I read thru a thread general consensus is people like their lvl 20 wraps more than the lvl 24's. This is also true for me atm. Now Im wondering why lvl 18 alchem weapons recieved a bump in base damage (1.7) bumped to (2), but the alchem wraps did not recieve a bump in their +[w]. Also the lvl 20 wraps of endless light should give the full epic +[w} but they do not. Another oversight and wraps left hanging. I realize wraps function different than normal weapons, but I think at this stage in the game forgetting to fix wraps when other weapons are changed is just not cute anymore. Its rather nauseating as it only happens EVERY stinkin time the word wrap is mentioned. How bout you guys just hire a guy and name him hand wrap..his title could be Handwrap manager, his only job would be to ensure handwraps recieved attention during changes or additions to weapons.

They weren't forgotten they just took longer than the other weapons.

It won't until Update 16, unfortunately.
Handwraps still function differently enough than weapons that this change in 15.2 won't be able to encompass them. There's some more major behind-the-scenes changes to Handwraps in general that are in Update 16, which will take care of this, and will retroactively fix appropriate existing items to have the correct dice.

Good post, I was unaware of that statement that they will be fixed and hopefully from what it sounds like should fix future issues that come about each time handwraps are created or changed.

Or her indeed. As long as he or she eats sleeps and err...eats handwraps!
