This post was orriginally made on the Spellbinder site 19th December 2011. I am now closing on level 20 and I have been asked a number of times about this build by people I have partied with.

http://my.ddo.com/character/cannith/yossie/

I posted this build as an offshoot of a conversation about would a war-chanter bard benefit from some Artificer levels with the guild leader and a fellow officer after witnessing a rather good war-chanter multi-class.

Damage
I only ever look at the first number on characters damage score to evaluate performance. The Yossie build when buffed will for each bolt striking 60 to 120 pts of dmg as an average range, snapshots on the guild website :) at 18th level.

Build Alternatives
As i said taking a couple of rogue levels is a very good option or if you feel brave monk. Monk is viable by level 10 because the stats are very even by level 10 and if a player is a TR'd monk this would work well.

I am under the impression that a character could become lawful using the alignment changes offered in the shop. If this is not so then I stand corrected. If I am right I will be off to get me a bard paladin asap.

Yeah as mentioned cant mix bard and monk.

If I was to build it would probably be 14 bard/6arti, meaning that your warchanter inspire songs are the equivalent of a 20 Spellsinger/virt. Just how I would roll with it.

I think there is decent cohesion between some sort of Bard/arti mix though. Especially if you have a Tovens Hammers for the added lightning strikes to your ranged damage.

I will look into getting Toven's Hammer, it seems appropriate. The choice of a 12/8 split is down to several factors.
1) The extra Arti feat
2) Access to Stoneskin
3) The duration of arti spells

Other than that there is no reason for my choice of balance.
