Anyone do these with any regularity? looking for the obvious chattering ring. Just got the toon in question flagged solo'ing. 14 going on 15th level so seeing if any guilds do any Titan loot runs that maybe I can get in on.

Yeah I know not a popular raid... seen one LFM for it in the last month.

It took my toon on Khyber spanning bout 3 levels doing the flagging quests. I put up LFMs several times, filling only 1 spot or none at all. Finally got the flagging done, and my toon already hit lvl 15. Put up an LFM for it, and again only one or two joins. And before anyone jumps on the "soloing" thing, I hate soloing. I play this game cos it's a social game and I like grouping.

The other day as I log on I saw an LFM for the raid, but it's all lvl 20s and said something bout "come in, waiting for puzzle". I don't like jumping into a quest just for loot, I *gasp* actually would like to run it so I didn't join that one.

My toon is almost lvl 17 now, and still waiting to do the raid. :(

Nobody really runs the Titan for fun now. There's too much waiting around for other people to do things (in the preraid) to enjoy it.

Titan is different from most raids. It doesn't require your characters to be geared or even built well. The drop rates on named loot are terrible, and it requires quest know-how to succeed. Most do not run it at level. It's not really a raid where you can expect to lead it without ever running it before and just go in and succeed. Almost everyone running it is only doing it to pull a certain 2 items, and almost everyone hates running it. So to ensure people join, a lot of people "prep" the preraid to lessen the pain of running it and try to get people to join. Just a little FYI. If you want to go in there blind be prepared for a long wait...

I'm currently travelling, won't be logging in soon, but I'm hoping to get on a Titan raid too. I flagged myself for it, but have never done it before. I haven't ever even seen a LFM for it that I can remember.

I'll be back next week, if you still haven't done a Titan run we can try to join forces and get that **** done with...

Seriously, I don't mind the Titan Raid. I know it well and have rings and gloves and belts on all the toons that wanted them.

It is not that difficult a quest, and is easy to prep in advance of putting an LFM up. If you know the quest, it is easy to run, easy to lead and you will get your lootz.

The only way to really get the lootz from Titan is to get to your 20s. The only way to get to 20s is to run it every 3 days. The only way to get that done is to master it.

So, if you are willing, sign up here. I will show you. If you are not willing to learn it, then you might as well plan on different gear and forget about Titan loot.

I know the raid but the pre-raid is still a pain to me. I will remember your offer altough we are on quite different time zones. Thank you.

I can teach you to lead your own.

I'm a horrible leader and I will prefer people not knowing or suffering it... but, a couple of friends know it by heart and let me boss them.

So thinking alternate ways, how many people will be needed at minimum to run the pre-raid?

I just read somewhere that 3 manning the raid was not a big issue, so I will suppose that 3 can also do the forge, right???

I read the wiki take on the forge and it doesn't seem too difficult, just loooooooong, but happily I don't care to waste my time ;)

I can teach you to lead your own.

I am all over this offer, assuming we can coordinate a workable time. I can't play (much) during the day due to work, and I have kids so eastern 9:00 at night to about 1:00am is my effective window... Weekends are much more wide open.

I am not adverse to leading by any means, once I learn it... Heck I'm not adverse to going in with 11 freshly flagged new players and figuring it out the slow and painful, multi wipe way, but yeah some schoolin' would be gratefully accepted.

Maybe we can coordinate several of us getting together and learning it? maybe do a regular run?

I'll mention here that Claw runs Titan at least once a week, sometimes twice, and often has a few spots left open. If anyone is interested, send me a tell or an email in-game and I can see about trying to include you in one of our runs.

FYI, it takes a while to learn the pre-raid and it's a pain. It is *not* do-able by 3 people.

The thing to do though is get some regularly schedualed runs going, as Clay noted (and is definitely supported by everything I read about the raid) the way to get the loot from Titan is 20th completions. So regularly scheduled runs need to happen.

I would gladly put any 7 fingered gloves or Belts of Brute Strength (anything else) up for roll on my AC Pali, I only need chattering ring, so I can use my Sovereign rune spot for Leviks rune. I don't need the belt as both Leviks and Band of Siberys have +6 Strength and I'll get false life somnewhere else. Once this toon has the ring I would run a toon for the gloves, possibly another toon for another set of gloves.

Back in the day, I used to lead one or two titans a week. Ran dozens and dozens of them with 12-man groups and every version of short man groups.

Two bits of advice:

1) To truly learn the pre-raid, its best to go in and solo as much as you can. And then short man the rest--taking the time to pull every switch and hit every lever yourself. It is nearly impossible to lead this effectively until you've learned every small subdetail--and doing them yourself sinks in better than watching someone else do them.

2) If you plan on short-manning frequently (which I recommend in terms of being able to get groups), you need to learn how to short man properly--which is a different strategy than having a full group. I recommend learning how to 4-man the pre-raid (and the main raid). Once you've got this down, you'll be able to apply the knowledge to 5-man, 6-man, etc. groups.

Count me in Clay. I've done it a few times, but as the KingOfCheese pointed out, I do not know every switch and every lever. Just let me know when and where to be.

Well, then I stand corrected. Though one would need patience to do it all in a small group, or even to try to learn it as a small group.

Yes I can, and have solo'd it with 3 accounts.

No, the pre-raid is not long, if you know what you are doing. It can be done by 5 competent people in about 15 min. Solo takes longer of course, and by solo I mean 3-boxing because there MUST be 3 people in Red now. It is not difficult to learn, but as was mentioned in an earlier post, the BEST way to learn it, as is most things, is to do it. Go in there, alone and learn it good. The time invested in that one long session will be more than made up in the ease at which you will be able to run it, and guide others thru it. You will get your 20s faster and with less frustration.

I am free this weekend to do so:

Seen several LFM's up for the flagging quests out of the blue since this thread was started. Maybe coincidence or maybe this thread got some people to look at the loot and decide they wanted to get flagged.

Spur of the moment last night I joined a group and ended up leading it through Slavers (no one else knew the quest so my couple of runs of knowledge was as good as we could get) with my FvS... So my FvS is half flagged, I might as well get her a Ghola Fan completion and fully flagged, so if anyone wants to run Bring me the head of Ghola Fan tonight after 9:00/9:30pm (maybe able to start a little earlier depending in Kids tuck in time).

Not really needing anything in the loot tables for her so haven't bothered to get her flagged before now, but might as well get the favor anyway.

Note that my FvS is 18th level so will negatively impact XP (was some XP in Slavers on Elite last night even still) Also I don't promise the quickest zergalicious completion of Ghola Fan you've ever seen as I've only done it twice. :)

Clay thanks for running this two nights in a row, I know after talking to some of the others after the fact, that it was very much appreciated. I for one am going to have to run it a lot to get the nuances down and actually get things memorized.

So any of you guys who ran it with us want to get a regular run going?
