Hey cleric, thanks for dc'ing from the shroud after part three. I knew there was a reason you were on my list, and I remembered it after you conveniently dc'ed from my shroud run. You've done it to me before, and people I know told me you've done it to them as well. If my LFM doesn't say "farming 1-3" then we're not just farming parts 1-3. It's called completion.

Thanks again buddy, and welcome to my list of incompetent noobs. You're a worthless pileon and I hope you get the recognition for it.

Thanks again, buddy.

alter's right. this is happening with more than 1 pug. just makes completion runs more selective, especially with the healers

Honestly, I haven't been privy to any of this behaviour that is rampant - Griefing, dropping, etc, so I consider myself lucky / fortunate / whatever.

But, if it is happening as often as it is and we are trying to mitigate it by only allowing friends into the raids, or keeping people away from the portals, etc... Why are we the ones that should be suffering?

Why does Turbine frown / penalize us for posting their names?

Maybe we need an area where we can post the names of people that should really be facing infractions.

Ideally, we should be able to come out here and say... so and so was great leading this raid and thanks and so and so dropped group after part 3, broke enchantment on dogs, etc.

Why protect the offenders?

Its a Deal its a steal its sale of the fecking century! in short deallll!!!!

+1 for quoting "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"... if only I could give rep =(

No one screws around in my Shroud runs. I vet every single person before they get in the raid, and I ask the people already in my raids if they know said person. If no one knows said person, and I am iffy about that player, either I reject them from the party, or I check on them in MyDDO for other characters of theirs.

I have no problem telling people to shove off if I think they wont contribute to the group. I'm sure people would rather wait another 10 minutes for someone you're sure about than someone that might compromise the raid.

It amuses me that I already know who you're talking about.
Some days the server still doesn't feel that big, even with all the new players and Euro refugees.

A public blacklist is just another form of griefing anyway...Who would actually know what names on the list are justified and which ones were just added by the griefers themselves? Also, alot of people don't even read the forums, etc.

I would rather people who pull this stuff find out the hard way when they try to join up for an entire week then get tossed from each raid group after they enter and they are talked about regarding their on purpose griefing by everyone in the group.

So and so has joined the raid.

"Hey wait, isnt this the a$$hat that ran into the next part too early and started the next encounter on two different occasions while everyone else was shrining, and didnt say anything when asked about it?"

"Yeah I knew I remembered him from somewhere..."

"Oh yeah he's on my list too"

[DING] So and so has been removed from the raid.

Just go with shroud speed completion only and say so in the lfm. Loot chests at the end only of the quest including on part 4 running over quick shrining and jumping through the portal asap. That will get rid of alot of the gimps quick.

gee, this is not the new ddo, it was like that when the shroud came out and the year after it.
I remember a certain now somewhat famous raid leader whose cleric used to bail on us as we entered shroud 2 so we could not get completion (back then it was hard) and then throw up an lfm to 'farm part 1'.

this guy now runs 'completion only' runs. What a tool and a hypocrite.

Yea, it was always like this, but in the early days it was party suicide when the cleric left like that.

Nowadays it only takes one or two good melee and one cleric to bring down part 4 and 5 if needed, so one less cleric does not mean anything. Back then you went in with 3 clerics or more to survive and they brought tons of material with them.

I was on my favored soul because we couldn't get a second healer to join. My favored soul is spec'd for soloing, not for healing. I was supposed to only be for backup heals since the DPS showed we would finish Harry off quickly. Instead, I was the main healer trying to heal through a ton of DPS lag. I'm surprised only one person died in part 4, and wasn't surprised at not getting any heals off in part 5.

We completed at a minor cost, but it shouldn't have cost anything.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Josh again.

The cycle has been broken! Ah well.

No, no, no. You're not to +rep a me for not being able to rep someone who is repping someone who was unable to rep someone. You, whoever-you-are, make a mockery out of the esteemed and foolproof rep system. I would look upon you with my "fie! for shame" look, but since it's an anonymous system, I cannot.

Shame on you. To ensure that this horrid cycle of false rep is broken, I will distract you with a picture of Old Timey Batman riding a flying eclair in a thunderstorm.

Shroud pugging has been very interesting lately to say the least. Joined one a couple days back. Should have known things were sketchy when someone said "wow we almost got him to 1/2 in the first round in pt 4." 3 1/2 rounds later we complete part IV. Part V starts and it goes well to begin with (had an easy pull in 2). All becomes a cluster when we surround the big beast. The squishes are dying at an astronomical rate and the clerics are burning too much mana trying to raise and get people rebuffed and the dings are going off faster than a burger king fry promo. The Wizard (who had the star) says I gotta go and drops. Several others do as well. A couple dc's and we're down to 4 people. A cleric named Qarsyl (sp?) picks up the slack. (This cleric who the wizard actually was ripping on earlier for his 15cler/3pal/2rog build). Q says don't panic we'll get it done. I pull out my bow and start plinking away. Said wizard actually starts a new shroud lfm that states completion with good group. We took Aratreikos down low enough where I could hero and Q kept me standing. We completed before the other group filled. I sent the wizard a tell simply stating thanks for bailing, we got it done.

Sorry to derail but just wanted to say there's always a diamond in the rough and Qarsyl is that guy. Don't know what guild he's in, but he's definitely a helpful person in any party.

As far as the cereal bailing on you, it's happened to me as well. He Dc'd in one of the pugs I was in.

I remember saying how when a particular game converted to F2P(wasn't this game) they said that the dust was flying all over the place, then it eventually settled. Sadly, for this game, I will never see the dust settle until the sun explodes or Nibru crashes into earth.

Long story. Basically, I have this boss who, for the longest time, requested that I include pictures of dougnuts in every **** report that I compiled for him. I got tired of posting boring old baked good pictures, and staretd getting creative with Photoshop. Sadly, after a major HD crash, that's one of the only ones I have left.

Throws people for a loop, though, and generally makes them forget they were doing.

You should see the one I did with the doughnut monsters stalking the Beatles.

Best story I have heard in a while.

It accurately describes my working conditions. Lately I've been far too busy to be able to fulfill his wacky requests, but he still finds time for bizarre shenanigans. I just heard him talking to someone in his office through a cardboard tube.
