Seriously Devs, When will you implement...

Prinstoni's Dark Elf Ale.

You gave Kargan his tasy ham, and I've been trying to get my Dark Elf Ale implemented into the game for over a year.

How do I go about getting it in game. Do I need to do more positive community relations. Host events?

Or is it just to racey because I say it can cause blindness especially in dwarfs. The truth is, Drow hate dwarves, infact we hate everyone that is not a Drow (except the occasional elf who proves himself and worships our gods, namely Prinstefano).

It would be an awesome drop.

Prinstoni's Dark Elf Ale has a mysterious affect. Although it replenishes 500-700 spell points anywhere in the game, in some circumstances (especially when drank by dwarfs) it can cause the user to become blind.

please /sign if you'd like to see this implemented.

It has an impeccable D&D pedigree - or did you think Otiluke was an NPC? :) and non-US players could win.

No offense Prins, but Kargon has been around a lot longer than yourself, and established himself in the community long ago (hence the forums title).

Not to downplay you at all, but Turbine usually reserves that sort of stuff for players whose playstyle, forums posting, and furthering of the community strikes them as rewardable.

So, what you are saying is that because I voice my opinion regularly on issues, and that I am usually in opposition to your posts, you don't think that I should get it. My posts play with the theme of my characters, you know?

I don't recall seeing you around when Kargon was a regular poster on the forums. He posted on issues often, but with a twist and flavor of humor and a touch of roleplaying that nobody on these forums has ever rivaled. There is a reason that a dev once said "Kargon, you are my hero, that is all."

Kargon is MY hero too!

I even made a character based off of Kargon

Grrrrrrr, son of Kargon is his name, he's a halfling raised by kobolds, but saved by wolves. Kargon does not recognize Grrrrrrr as a legitimate heir, but that hasn't deterred Grrrrrrr from collecting tasty hams for when "daddy" comes to Khyber.

not to toot his horn or anything but Kargon did what he did for love of the game...not to be recognized or rewarded.

He did get both but it was not his intent, he was truly trying to make the game more fun for everyone.

To ask for it and to create a thread saying it should be made sort of sullies the idea with a less than virtuos air....dont u think?


disclaimer- I was very upset when they went ahead and added the tasty ham to the game to honor him. At the time I had problems
with my characters that had been documented for months and instead of fixing said problems they created the Ham craze.
Its nothing against Kargon...It just made me feel ignored...I had a legitamate and documented problem that no one would help me fix
and 6 months went by, filled with help me emails with nothing and then..."hey kids, how about some tasty ham"


water under the bridge and now that my problem has finally been fixed im ok with the Kargon phenomenon...I just wish my issue
had been a little high on the list of things to do,,,as it was important to me at the time.



positive prospect for the future--- Maybe if u stick around long enuff and they implement crafting...you might be able to brew your precious dark ale

Really, this is the first time I've even noticed your name (err, lol I already forgot it) you aren't a commonly recognized name by an avid forum reader (i.e. me, btw don't let my sign up date to the forums fool you, this is my 2nd account) like Aspenor, Ziggy, Kargon, Cupcake, ya get at what I'm getting at?

Yes Kargon was all about just getting Tasty Ham put back in the game. Tasty Ham was the reward for the first quest ( still is I think ) and it was just a normal food dish to regen health in a tavern, but it was also on the tavern menus around town, but for some unexplained reason the devs took it off the menu around module 1 and Kargon waged a personal and persistent crusade to get it put back. He did it in a very humorous and entertaining way and we all supported his efforts. Finally the devs gave Kargon a personal gift of 100 tasty hams in the mail in game and there was a whole thread where everyone congratulated Kargon for his prize and he hammed it up so to speak in his usual way :D. Not long after that we got the new version of Tasty Ham known for ever more as Kargon's Tasty Ham.

Now I have noticed Prinstoni's posts in other threads. I certainly have nothing against seeing new people on the forums. I do however like many find self promotion a bit tasteless, but in his defense I want to add that his idea is not really bad and since the item he wants added is not and was never in the game the only way he can do it is to self promote.

That said I don't see it happening for some time yet and only after the devs/CR people feel he has contributed to the community enough to warrant the recognition. Kargon's efforts were for the betterment of the game because most of us wanted the Tasty Ham back even if it was a low level food item we would not use after L4 or L5 he helped prove the devs do listen to the community and he was rewarded for his selfless efforts to make the community better.
