ML2 Star of Irian for Trade

I am considering trading my ML2 Star of Irian :eek:

+2 Holy of Righteousness Morningstar - Minimum Level 2


It has been a handy companion for many of my chars, but luckily it only has one tick of damage.

- Durability 84/84, Hardness 12


It is still ingame but it is now ML8, so in essence it is no longer available.

I won't be too specific about what I am looking for but,
I would like the offer to include +5 Mith FP at a minimum (preferably decent looking :D).

Additional high end rare items (+5 Mith BP, Kardin's Eye, Daggertooth Belt, Whirlwind, plat, Etc.) would help sweeten the offer, but feel free to submit anything.

there are plenty of lvl6 holy of pure good items out there on ah or house d vendors..if you watch them both you will find a lvl 4 rr usable every other day...tangleroot to 5 and delaras from 6-8....you can be lvl 4 in 5 hours of straight play....I would say he is asking for 30 mil gold for an item that is obsolete in 5 hours

This is basically a +4 Holy Morningstar useable at level 2! Even at level 8 it is a good weapon when you could get the new version or an equivalent randomly generated non RR. Have you checked a damage calculator?

+1 Holy of Pure Good does not generate anywhere near the damage of a +4 Holy due to hitting much more frequently. For 3/4 BAB or those with modest STR this is an awesome weapon at low to mid levels. What one handed weapon would perform similarly given the level range if any 2.0-7.9? There is a reason this is now a LV 8 weapon. This outperforms retribution and many others according to the weapon comparison tools I have checked.

Being that this is no longer available and considering some guilds rebuild chars pretty frequently and could pass this around, not to mention having ridiculous sums of plat, I don't think my request is that crazy.

I have seen +5 MFP on the AH for 1-2Mil Plat (10-20 Mgp) and same with some of the other items. I feel this is worth more than 2Mil Plat so I didn't hit up the AH.

If you wan't to complain please do it elsewhere, and please check any weapon comparison tool, and you may reconsider it's value. To each their own but no need for mocking its not like a +3 club of shatter +4, that would be warranted. In my book it's great, if not yours so be it.

This item, even in it's lvl 2 state is common. There are several versions lying around... and at lvl 2 it is not a +4 weapon... it is a +2 that CAN be a +4 weapon in the presence of VERY evil creatures.

Secondly, it is a blunt 1d8 with a crit of 5%...

Ok... so I get a +1 Holy Khopesh (lvl2 item) or a +2 Holy Khopesh (rr) and my DPs is way up... or a rapier.. or a long sword... or? and so on and so on...

You Sir, are trying to steal from a Noob.

To all you Noobs out there... I will give you a banisher and a smiter for your +5 MFP... and I'll toss in a Greater Potency 7 Dagger... (it's a way better deal than this)

I've made my point, and so has many others... your weapon is nice... but So what.. it is not anywhere near the worth of +5 MFP...

..and as to your Guild Sharing comment... I can name offhand 5 guilds that have one of these things lying around... and of the other 20+ quality guilds that I'm friends with, will agree... trading +5MFP for this is a hanging offence...:eek:

Rightoeus was changed a long time back to affect all evil so yes a basically a +4 Holy which the majority of content is. If you dont think Righoutness matters fine I will have less competition bidding on +4/5 of rightousness items.

As far as blunt goes so what, how many things resist blunt - not many. Crits on your khopesh wont work against undead etc. This is not a an ideal weapon for a slashing, two handed spec barbs etc.

I still beleive it to be useful to many folks, Clerics, Rangers, Bards, some Palis, some fighters etc.

I did see a Min Level 8 Star on the AH the other day for 25k pp initial and a 50k pp buyout in my opinion a bit overpriced if that was you, but you wouldn't find me complaining in your post if you had made one.

The thing that makes this nice is the level 2 req and the dmg output for those levels. You wont easily (or ever) find a better one handed weapon (especially if you look at a dmg calc!) for levels 2-7.4.

ya again nice item for like 1 or 2 runs into delaras...but for a kardins eye and/or +5mith....that are longterm almost impossible items..been playing a year hard core and those 2 items are about the only things i dont have 3 of...i have yet to get either...so yes the only funny thing is that i keep typing here about a weapon that would be useful for 1-3 days of play per new toon

Everyone know the 6level differentce in ML makes his Star 153 times more valuable.

Are you crazy Incan? I'd pay 6k plat for one.. heh. Mine is getting pretty busted up these days.. I still cringe when it breaks knowing that twinking will never be the same when it's gone... :( Still not worth high end items.. it's a collectors piece and makes levels 1-7 entertaining as a bard or cleric. And the Maelstrom still drops as a level 2 weapon.. hardly a good analogy. :p

I have one myself. It is a nice piece to have....even with 8 str i can still hit stuff with my cleric and help the team out since i am heal and dv specced. You gotta realize this was an uber item of its time for us founders when the cap was lvl 10. Was nice to run tempest spine and find one of these to lvl our other characters. Id sell mine but I think it is priceless. Too good of a lvling tool for me since i reroll alot. The original poster can try to sell his item or he can go farm like I did with Sanctuary of Tharashk back in the day and make tons of plat to get what he wants.

The less I look, the more pp I have. I was spending too much pp on items that were nice but either had no longetivity (quickly outgrown) or were similar to something I already had.

One day, I was in a hurry to catch up with guildies that were waiting... so didn't twink out my character, and harldy noticed a difference. Reached lvl 6 so fast the lowbie twink gear would only have helped me for a day or two.
