My ranger, Jealousy, is now the proud bearer of the highest possible dex in game. I would like to thank Renegade and Quarry both of whom were the unfortunate victims of me actually winning a meaningful roll for once. :D
phffffft
gratz... nows yer chance to try your luck with Urich and the Helm of Mroranon

I gave up on that sucker after you traded me that +6 Helm and I reached 61 runs with no drop.

Okay...I guess grats are in order, but what's the use of that 37 Dex? Wouldn't it better for you to cash in those AP's to enhance something else? Ya know...drop it down to a 36 Dex...?
Unless it's strictly for bragging rights. I can understand that. :D
... bragging rights. ... :D
sorry, what was it you said? i missed the rest being distracted by a fine point you made...

Hehe...as long as he's keeping that 37 dex for a good reason. Thinking about it now, I'd probably keep it, too. :)

08-19-2007, 01:18 AM
Heh...I kept it because I never really considered it before, I just ate the tome tonight, and forgot I could respec to make use of those points. I think she already has points she isn't using but I'll have to check it out. Either way, when the level cap is raised she'll be at 38. :D

Yeah I forgot about that. Then again, I would personally never build a 12 ranger/2 rogue...

just a bit of constructive criticism, but having a 37 dex is pretty useless compared to having a 36:p

Funny my halfling thrower (10 rogue, 4 fighter) with out any tomes can reach 36 and he started at 18. Of course that is a 20 second thing and not a standing, so I suppose some congratulations are in order.

Aren't there special potions you can get from collectors that add +1 to dex stackable, albeit for a short duration?
So you *could* have 38 buffed Dex, if you farmed the collectables enough...or am I mistaken about them stacking?

Actually those pots come in +1, +2 and +3... so he could hit 40 for a short while.

Rogue Dex cannot be taken if you take Ranger Dex (class stat bonus cannot be used with the same stat from another class) (Class can however stack with Race)

There's two different types. One for skills and one for the attribute...different collectors, of course, but both are on that tower in House D.

The pots add +1, +2 or +3 to a stat as an inherent bonus.
I am unsure as to whether this stacks with tomes...

if its inherent it shouldnt

As was mentioned earlier a 12 ranger 2 rogue could reach 38. I happen to know a certain ranger/rogue build who is at 37 dex at lvl 10 as of last night. I know this because i also did not believe it was possible at lvl 10 but i saw the stats and numbers and they are for real.
Ohh and i forgot to mention that this was without a tome.
I happen to also know that I personally have a rogue/ranger build that will be 37 at lvl 14 with the ability to boost to 41 with an action boost 5/rest. without a tome. I also happen to have a +1 tome waiting for her and was waiting because i had hoped to get a +3 tome and make it to 40 and boostable to 44.
Just so you know.

20 base
+3 levels
+3 enhancement (available to rangers and rogues)
+2 enhancement (available to halfings, drow and elves)
+6 item
+3 tome
Same stat enhancements from different classes do not stack. racial and class based enhancements do stack.

Not to mention there is NO Dex "Boost" inthe game.
37 is the Maximum(Standing) Dex Acheivable for ANY Class comonation int he game right now. a +3 ALchemical pot will put you at 40 for what.. a Minute or less?

As Jundak pointed out my math was wrong i was including the 1750 tome and added 3 for racial instead of 2.
But still lvl 14 with 37(with +3 tome) and able to boost to 41.
And yes there is a boost it is called the Way of the theif acrobat it allows a +10 jump, tumble, and balance boost as well as a +4 Dex boost that stacks with all other items and abilities.
I have been using the dex boost for 5 lvls and it is awesome.
It adds the +2 bonus to skills in addition to the skill boost as well as +4 to attack (with weapon finesse of course). It also stacks with action boost or the uncanny dodge boost which essentially gives me 8 points of AC using both in addition to the reflex boost from uncanny dodge.
When i have finished the build and finalized it I plan on posting it to tentonhammer for everyone to check out, critique, and otherwise flame the h*** out of.

Hmmm.. Interesting.. Never paid much attention to the Acrobat.. Seems like such a waste of action points...
Oh.. and +4 Dex (For 20 seconds) is only +2 to hit (With FInesse)

do you mean:
Rogue Way of the Thief-Acrobat I
Grants a +2 bonus to Balance, Jump, and Tumble skills and 2 extra uses per rest of Uncanny Dodge. Also grants the ability to expend a use of Haste Boost to dramatically increase these skills and gain a movement and dexterity bonus for a short period of time. You may possess only one class specialty at a time.
Action Points: 4 (must have spent 16 action points) Prerequisites: Rogue Tumble II AND
Rogue Balance II

Not to jack the thread, but I've wanted to ask about this. My WF Barbarian has a base STR of 27 (18+3levels+6 belt, no tome) and rages to 36. What is the max unbuffed and raging STR that be had?

potions from house D are alchemical, 1:30 minutes
so, can add up to dex 40 for this time..
have the enhancement roguish bonus, it's true...
===========
talking about STR (off topic, sorry to OP, but other guy start first :P )
remember that ANY barbarian level 14 can add:
enhancements + barbarian rage + potion/spell rage + madstone rage from boots click + madstone rage from boot when you take some damage (randon)
on your STR and CON.
I know one barbarian dwarf (not my build or character, but a player that usually play with me) that reach 44 STR with this bonus.

Don't remember what you have to collect exactly...but I believe they drop all over the Restless Isles, if I'm not mistaken. The collector is on top of that tower in House D, just like the other ones.

They drop in the desert, among other places - but they drop from everything in the desert. Only collectables I pick up - but definitely worth it (specially when you're doing something like 2-manning Velah).
