Its been a long time, fellas. If any of you are still here please chime in. I would like to join you all again.

I saw Helmets going away post on page like 3 or 4, which was sad to see. McDermott still playing? Bruw? I talked to Grimsword and he said he suspended his account until new content comes out, which was sad to hear also.

theres a few still runnin around, not as many as awhile back tho.

McDermott as far as I know is still around but runnin with a different guild.

I've even been tossin around the idea lately of maybe joining a different one. Not due to anyone in particular, I've just never been really close-knit with alot of the guys in GoL. I pug- alot for instance. And most of those guys are pretty tight and dont like to pug. So I don't know, see what happens in a couple weeks.

I'm not a fan of the new raid loot system either but I'll still keep playing. I don't raid that often anyway really....

What is changing with the raid loot?

from what I gather, raid loot items will be dropping tagged to a random person's namein the party, instead of the old 'leader hands out the stones' tactic from before... and that It won't always be two pieces of raid loot like it was before. I think to ensure two raid items drop will require a full raid party of 12 people. Less people, chances are that items won't drop.

I see this specifically as a way for the devs to curb or discourage the practice of solo/two-man/ or three man raids like people have been doing. For whatever reason, I think it urks the devs and this is their way to try to force people to group larger parties for raiding like they intended.

We're always doing something they don't like aren't we?

I havent researched it alot, i see some debating that it drastically reduces a person's chance to get (whatever) raid item or that it won't be fair because persons that get said items may not always need them or turn them to someone who would, or etc etc.

There's more about it on the development forums or in future release notes- I'm going to have to look into it more myself. But I don't think it would be enough to drive me away from the game....

I actually doubt taht we'll get less Raid Loot... when you consider taht some people have run Velah 50+ times for the Helm and never gotten it... I can't se anything being worse than that... I'm just hoping that the loot is assignable, so I can give things away... it's not like my toons need anything from most of the Raids anymore...

So much for need before greed. Right now I'm willing to wait and see how this pans out, but it doesn't sound good for raiding at all. So what if we can end a raid with 3 people? That doesn't stop the people who want to run it in a full group from doing just that.

Just because Waterworks was made for a full group but you can easily solo it with a 32pt build fighter, are they going to put more kobolds in to make sure you can't solo it? Weak sauce.

tis tyranny of the masses... where mediocrity gets rewarded and excellence gets ground to mush under the herds of baaaahing sheep:mad:

...and people say cream rises to the top... they just happened to forget to mention that they scrape it off right away and make it into cheese:eek:

Basically raid loot now boils down to this:
Everyone in the party has a 1 in 6 chance of getting raid loot. If you don't get raid loot you will get some other loot that is supposedly equal to the level of the raid.

Loot can be traded while it is still in the chest, once it is pulled if it is raid loot (ie the sword of shadows) it will bind.

Your personal chances don't change no matter how large the group you are in, no matter how many times you have run the quest, etc. It will always will be one in six. They are discussing changing it slightly depending on difficulty, so if you are running on hard you have a 1/5 and elite 1/4.

Alot of people are suggesting only full raids will happen now - more people equal more people you can possibly trade with if they pull raid loot.

Personally I don't think it will change much, especially for those who run raids mostly with guildies anyway.

I know I won't be doing full raids... I just hate being with that many people:)

They hate you too. :D

I have no desire to run with 12 people, takes too long. And the chance 6 flamestrike bracers may drop from Velah over the normal 2 just doesn't motivate me to try to pug.

Hey hey, long time no see. Yeah i haven't really been playing either as i'm pretty tired of the content. GoL activity has fallen dramatically. I'm teetering on calling it quits but i'm still debating. I was getting sick of playing with you guys all the time anyways! ha! ;)
