For the first time since its inception, the Thelanis guild Solid is actively recruiting new members. This is not due to membership attrition, as our core membership has remained almost identical since our inception. This is instead due to an expressed interest in becoming more active, as a guild, in raiding and end game content. In its current form Solid, being a smaller guild, has a difficult time filling raid groups exclusively with guild members. This is something that we believe a more active approach in recruitment can remedy.

With that being said, there are no plans to alter our approach in screening potential recruits. Traditionally, all recruits must go through a one month probationary period after which time the recruit and current members decide if a full fledged membership is in order. If all associated parties are in agreement, then the recruit is granted full membership and officer status within the guild.

We believe that the player behind the character is the most important consideration in a potential recruit and, as such, we like to quest with all potential recruits multiple times before offering a probationary membership. The purpose of this is two fold: first, we need to be comfortable with the personalities of all recruits and second, we need all potential recruits to be comfortable with our current membership. Personality conflicts are inevitable in all social situations and we would like to make sure that all associated parties are satisfied.

The majority of Solid members are laid back with interests that span many of the possible ways to enjoy DDO. There are members who enjoy end game content and raids; there are members who enjoy the character creation and leveling process; and there are members who enjoy powerleveling and zerging. In short, we enjoy playing DDO and having a good time doing so. A reasonably thick skin is required as we consider almost no subject taboo in guild and party chat. We are a guild of players ranging in age from their 20's to their almost 50's, so there are some adult jokes being told.

I have ran with several Solid Guildies and have never had a complaint, alwasy playing with the intent of playing and playing well.

That might have something to do with it...

It bears mentioning that, while we are looking to expand our numbers, we aren't looking to dilute the guild to the point that it becomes something that it was never intended to be.
