    Default Siegebreaker Puzzle

    !!!warning This Is A Spoiler!!!

    !!!warning This Is A Spoiler!!!

Ever wonder how one can get the puzzle done fast in Seigebreaker and to get it done while fighting the boss battle? Well now there is a way! Simple solve really.
Step1: Make sure the puzzle ends are all lit and step on one.
Step2: Run straight across from the one you shut off and turn the two that its lines touched on (they will tun off along with the first)
Step3: Run back across and step on the first one and the other two that had not been touched.
Step4: Step on the very first you you started with

Waalaa. Puzzle done. Do the same for the end fight but watch out for those traps! Fire, Acid, and Cold resist is a good idea and a good reflex save for that spin trap on one of the buttons. Oh... and if your party can try to keep the foe away from buttons. Be much faster to get the end fight done and over with. ^^ Good luck gaming people!

On your screenshot of 'After Step 3', step on the platform closest to the camera... done!

It's not meant to be a hard puzzle... unless monsters are trampling all over it.

    Concur with this.

    Just...run a circle. It solves.

Really, your only problem is healing yourself on the second one while on Elite Difficulty Setting.

For some reason, this puzzle was very non-intuitive to me, and I love the Shroud puzzle!
I wanted to be able to "play" this one and figure it out, so that I don't have to rely on
a printout. So I lifted the Vale puzzle solver from terpstra.com and re-rigged it to
    play the Siegebreaker puzzle.

Looks like it works, if not, shoot me a PM.

    Very simple, except...

How do you "make sure" all puzzle ends are lit for Step1, if it is not already?

I managed to complete Siegebreaker, but getting TO that Step 1 was a nightmare.

    Red face

well i read this thread, the ddowiki article, tried the practice solver....and still have no idea how this works.

its not logical, the shroud one made sense right away, this one...well, im not sure why i can't get it.

i know the run in a circle thing, but when ppl step randomly it can take forever to get.

I use Cashiry's suggestion of 1, 2, 3, 5, 4. Works every time assuming they are all lit up when you start. Don't drag the mobs all over the puzzle if you have trouble solving when they aren't all lit to start. Once you've done it a few times the patterns get pretty easy to recognize and you'll just know what to step on even when they aren't all lit.

So, it's similar to the Vale puzzle in that when you step on one light,
several lights change. What's different is that the light you step on
is always the bottom of a V, with the two lights at the top of the V
also changing. Since there are only 5 lights, there are fewer states,
so it *should* be simpler to solve, but it took me a while to figure out
    the pattern.

If you get lucky, then all the lights are on, and you just run around
the circle. But if there are mobs or pets stomping on the lights, then
you have to solve it. You can brute force it by jumping around
randomly until either all the lights are on, or you have just one "V"
of lights lit (then you just hit the bottom of the V). Try that in
the practice game. When you're practicing, skip around and see
    how the pattern changes.

    Good luck!

My experience was different than in this thread or on wiki. (I've been farming this chain all week.)

For the practice puzzle and to "call" the witch, yeah, running in a circle works great. Resetting the puzzle isn't that hard, and the circle is quick to run so no problems there.

But closing the portal seems to require a different solution for me. I find that the portal won't close with the "run a circle" trick or the stated solution here and on wiki, but instead you have to "draw" the star like you're drawing it with a pencil on a piece of paper.

Assuming the triggers are numbered 1 to 5 clockwise starting from the one you step on first:

    Practice & calling witch: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 1, 3, 4, 5, 2
    Closing portal: 1, 3, 5, 2, 4
