Default No game audio through Bluetooth headset

Hey all! I posted in the Windows support forum but haven't gotten an answer so figured I'd try here. Coming back to the game after a several year break. I'm not getting any game audio through my Sony WH-1000XM4 headset. I've messed around with all the audio settings in Options but no luck. I get sound with my el cheapo headset that is over 10 years old. Any ideas what could be causing the sound to not play on the new headset?

    Thanks in advance!

It may be an incompatibility in your Bluetooth versions between your computer and headset.

If, for instance, your computer runs BT 4.0 or earlier and your new headset is version 5.0 or later they might see each other, but not link up properly.

You might be able to update your BT drivers to get the new version, alternatively, you may be able to disable your onboard BT and use a BT dongle that supports a newer version.

Thanks I'll look into that. Although I would think if it's a compatability issue I should be having audio problems across applications. The only one that gives me issues is DDO. Audio runs fine on other games no problem.

Some basic questions just to be sure -

You do have the correct audio device selected in the DDO settings, correct?
Is the game recognizing the headset in settings?
You do have the headset connected before launching DDO, right?

Seems to be an ongoing issue with bluetooth headsets as a whole. Looks like it did get a mention in the current update and its being looked into...

Ok good to know it's not on my end. Will just swap out to the old cheapies till the issue gets resolved.

    Thanks!
