1. DDO is not unplayable. Not even close.

Orien's been great during the off hours, but at about 8 pm local time the server starts lagging so bad that I literally spent 3 minutes just trying to talk to a quest giver, waiting for the UI to appear. Travel becomes impossible, ranged attacks miss, and spells go on cooldown but don't cast. I'd say the game becomes pretty much unplayable, and you're deep deep in denial if you think otherwise.

Well, I made my choice and just quit DDO. Probably when more people follow my route and the lag goes away, SSG will just say "fixed it!". And, well, they won't be wrong about it since forcing players to quit is one way to fix it.
Another (and better) option would be admitting that they seriously screwed up by allowing free transfers and just forcibly transferring all Orien newcomers back to their original servers (excluding hardcore toons), but they obviously won't do that (sang in Meat Loaf's voice).

5. Continuous posts about lag are only going to lead to character nerfs (that may or may not reduce lag). Proceed at your own risk.

What is even left to nerf (other than reaper trees, which by design is the worst I have seen in a MMO)?

Doublestrike - gone
Archon light - gone
Imbues - gone
slayer area - gone (you have to kiss mobs to activate them)
horse - gone (mobs kiss you back horse is gone)

Any semblance of D&D - gone!

Go ahead, nerf the s**t out so everyone leaves then we can have a lag-free Orien.

The fighting, insults, and mud-slinging between several members of the forums here ends now. Further discussion about the Orien/Sarlona transfer period that has any hint of being about player motivation in a negative light will be immediately removed and the poster removed from the forums. I see at least three people in danger of being banned in this thread alone.
