    Default Runearm question...

Are Runearms considered "orbs" in so far as external bonuses or effects for orbs are concerned?

Example: Eldritch Knight - Offhand Defenses

Offhand Defenses: Pick between Shield and Orb bonuses.Orb Saves: +1/2/3 to saving throws and +3/6/10 Universal Spell Power while holding an OrbShield Striking: On Hit: +5/10/15% chance to proc an immediate Shield Bash attack with an equipped shield. Passive: Every six seconds while you have a shield equipped, you gain Temporary Hit Points equal to the enhancement bonus of your equipped shield (this stacks up to 3 times).

Runearm is a runearm and an orb is an orb.

My English isn't the best so I don't understand what sucks.

    Truth.

My English pretty good, and I don't understand where this confusion is coming from.

    But a couple related Questions:

    1) I have a Paladin but I want to multi with Barbarian. If I play my Pali as Lawful Good, can a True Neutral alignment be considered as Lawful Good in so far as Paladin alignment is concerned?

    2) I have a Wizard but I want to run in heavy armor. If I use a robe cosmetic, is heavy armor considered cloth armor in so far as ASF is concerned?

    3) I have a dwarf but I want the AA tree. Since they are both "non-human", is a Dwarf considered an Elf in so far as racial trees are concerned?

If any of these are "no", that sucks.

(I have more, but these are the ones I'm really concerned with.)

It was a simple question that's NOT covered by the Wikipedia.

Acting like a condescending arse after the question was already answered doesn't mean you win. Just means your sour, contemptible, and enjoy trolln people. Get over yourself already or find a new hobby.

That a rune arm is not an orb? And a short sword is not a short bow. And an Elf is not a Dwarf. Apples are not oranges.

These are also simple questions that are not, specifically, covered anywhere in the Wild, Wild Web. And yet, people have survived without this information being publicly available. How?...

(I'm one of many Wiki editors - where would you like to see this critical clarification? How would you like it worded, so it's not considered condescending? Most importantly, how many other, similar, clarifications would you consider necessary? Please, just let me know.) (</jk>)

Edit: Okay - I apologize for my own confusion and my reaction to that. But only you can clear that up, so a serious question - how did you get the impression that a Rune Arm might be an Orb? Seriously - is the wiki misleading on this subject???

In the Swashbuckler Tree, the Arcane Marauder can Swashbuckle with an Orb. The Canoneer can Swashbuckle with a Rune Arm.

Maybe that make them seem similar?

Or maybe it shows they are very different.

But the Feat "Offhand Versatility" says:
You gain special bonuses for fighting with specific things in your offhand while Single Weapon Fighting. If you have nothing in your offhand, your ability score modifier contributes 25% more to your melee damage. If you have an *Orb or a Runearm* in your Offhand, your Vorpal strikes cause you to gain Versatile Empowerment. Versatile Empowerment: Your spells automatically crit for the next 5 seconds. Cooldown: 20 seconds.

So maybe the OP was confused by this?

    I added the line:

*Rune arms are their own unique type of off hand. They do not qualify for any bonuses that pertain to shields, orbs, or off hand combat styles. Only specific benefits that state, "while wielding a Rune Arm" or "Rune Arm DC" apply.

in the interactions with other classes section of the Rune Arm page on the wiki. Hopefully this will help anyone in the future when trying to determine what off hand benefits apply to rune arms.

An Orb-Rune Arm cross over item would be pretty cool for the options it could open up.

I did a WF WIZ in Addy body and the Docent of Defiance with Fanion Shield and a Torc and lots of Concord Op back in the day. Could straight tank the Demon Queen and was excellent at ToD kiting and Hound and VoD. This was obviously 20 cap and Repair and Force was the same spell power.

Talking about it makes me wanna do that again.

I'm geeked to make a Bladeforged!

With a glamoured Balance Bat from the anniv. event for my spell stick.

I have allot of orbs. However I might go old school with the Skyvault look.
