    Default Transfer ASAP

SSG will turn back transfers on (probably tomorrow or this week) and when they do ,please , transfer, transfer, transfer...

I have no idea who is running this business or what is happening to manage this slow death rattle of G-Land and Cannith, but I do not want to see anyone quit over this.

Listen, you all think I may not have any personal stake in this since I'm on Orien already but realise that those stubborn few who stay behind will end up eventually being frustrated playing by themselves and quit. This means a chunk of revenue for the game disappearing. It means less updates, less upgrades, and less of everything.

If you are still debating, don't. Cannith and Ghallanda people should promptly move their mains and bank toons to either Orien or Sarlona.

Do not get left behind !

If they turn transfers back on you'll see a big jump in transfers immediately. People won't wait to see if the coast is clear because they'll be too worried transfers will be turned back off again suddenly and without notice.

If SSG's plan was to goose the wait-and-seers they couldn't have done anything better than turning off transfers suddenly and without warning or explanation.

And Wayfinder. If anyone remains on Wayfinder after being offered a free ride to a more populated server then I'm going to assume that the ones who stay are strictly solo players.

I'm not sure I fully understand the intention of this and similar threads imploring players to transfer to Orien or Sarlona. They mean well, I guess, but here's the reality: you wouldn't know it if I transferred and wouldn't miss me if I didn't.

    Seriously, who cares?

Now I find your statement about having a personal stake in the game much more valid, but I'm finding it difficult to muster any sympathy for DDO's revenue stream when

    a) they expect me to transfer, lose stuff in the bargain, and pay to get it back
    b) SSG clearly has no interest in pursuing revenue generators that players want and would pay for

People that are staying put on Ghallanda, Cannith, and Wayfinder are staying put for their own reasons. It's not just simple stubbornness.

If that makes me el ultimo hombre on Ghallanda, so be it.

I am a wayfinder and although it is nice they are offering free transfers I want to transfer the entire account, shared bank and all. They really need to do something to either incentivize people to come to wayfinder, such as better loot drops and an exp bonus or consider merging the server. WOW offers bonuses to its less populated servers to attract new people to them. Maybe consider changing default servers too.... maybe enough people are leaving wayfinder they will decide to move us till then I am not leaving. I do have friends on the server, just would be nice to see more groups to be with.

Really sick of this kind of post, even before the transfers started (or the lfms hyping this on every server). Supposedly it was meant to fix the broken transfers from hardcore and meant to be only for the hardcore characters that didn't get to go to orien or sarlona. But it is clearly being used outside of its alleged purpose. The way people are hyping these transfers like the new "cool, legit" NFT, and SSG not even caring about the possible unintended consequences just makes everything worse.

Just hoping they make transfers to any server permanently free after this mess or do proper merges.

    Your assumption would be incorrect.

Fair enough. Maybe you can give Ghallanda some tips on how to be an empty server.

I care. Not if you personally move, but I transferred to Orien. To play with more players. So the more players that transfer the better. So if you chose not to transfer? Not noticable. But if 50 players from each server, still on the fence, choose not to transfer, that would be very noticeable.

I can't fault people for trying to do a little recruiting.

And there is a ticking clock. Once they turn transfers back on that is.

There is still a big gap between a solo player and an self-isolated hermit.

Edit : an 'asocial self-isolated hermit'

Please just do what you want everyone. If you want to stay on your server then do so. This kind of fearmongering is exactly what caused all these problems in the first place.

You should proceed as though neither of those things will happen.

The first one will never happen because $$$ - the same reason why they won't continue daily gold rolls this year for vips.

The second one is unlikely because if they can't even keep a few hundred individual character transfers going, imagine moving a whole server with 30,000 characters and merging it into one with with 40,000.... and the consequences if it went badly somehow.

Yes I came back from break and missed out the first couple of weeks. Gland is a wasteland now. If only Severlin had kept up with his promise of a MEGA server he made way back in 2019 we would not be in this mess.

I do want to transfer out of Cannith, because I rarely see any lfg open to run stuff when I am playing... but the fact I will lose so much stuff is a big no for me.

Why do we have to lose so many things just to transfer to a different server anyway?

LOL The revenue they have generated from this has saved the game LOL
Active Acts are up 25%-30%, the default sever is packed, and whales gona whale on the beach and the forums till they justify there spending, it is truly GLORIES.
More power to them for this death stroke of genius, this has brought in an entire years worth of profit, and the fun is just getting started with more to come.

Sorry but I’m confused by your comment- how is their revenue up from this?

I think the big loss is astral shard airships purchased with cash. Other than that? I get mounts from the expansions I've purchased. Absolutely do not care about pets. I received a 1 attached to my name. But with a free name change when that happens I'm sure I'll find a new one that I like. Already found a new guild. Transferred everything in my shared bank, took a few trips. Honestly I don't feel like I lost anything. But if I had purchased an air ship I'd feel differently. Add to that a fat stack of XP pots and sentient XP, hearts of wood and some other stuff, seemed a no brainer to do it.

You can bring your BTA gear on mules. Content of your Account bank can go on the mules. You will still have your slots. Guild ship is valuable but not really necessary, you can just join a guild. The mounts are an issue but if you have any expansion mounts, you can reacquire those.

Nope. You could have said, "SSG not even caring about the possible unintended consequences just makes everything worse." and stopped there. That's the alpha and omega for this dumpster fire.

The origin of all other problems associated with the free transfers can be traced directly back to SSG's bewildering choice.

Incorrect. You should have said, "SSG's ill-considered decisions are exactly what caused all these problems in the first place."

It all goes back to SSG. SSG made the decision. Everything after that is just the consequences of that decision. Players are simply reacting to that decision and making the best of the poo sandwiches SSG keeps handing out.

Nope, but you seem to share the same short-sighted business acumen SSG demonstrates on a regular basis. Maybe you should apply to work for them?

All SSG has done here is sacrifice long-term gains on the altar of short-term profits.

Sure, I grabbed a couple hundred astral shards on Orien after transferring toons over. Unfortunately for SSG, I used DDO points I've had banked for a while to get those shards. Net additional income from my AS purchase is 0.

Worse yet for SSG, this doofus decision of theirs has virtually guaranteed I'll have zero incentive to spend another dime for consumables and store stuff for many years to come.

I had one of the season passes they sold a while back that gave daily gold die rolls for 2 years. Then, they gave more daily gold die rolls to me for VIP after the season pass ended.

I only actively play on one server/world, but during the season pass, I created daily gold die roll mules on each server. For a majority of that 2 years, I logged said mules on and banked the gold roll rewards every day. ON. EVERY. SERVER.

I have 5+ gold roll mules on every server that are stocked with stacks of XP pots, slayers pots, potions, pets, cosmetics, mounts, etc. ON. EVERY. SERVER.

Care to take a guess where those mules are going now? I get to consolidate all the daily gold roll rewards to the single server which I actually play on... for FREE. I'll have more consumables than I could use in the next 3 years and consequently zero reason to buy points for such things.

In summary, SSG's additional short-term revenue from me for this? $0.00.

SSG's additional long-term revenue from me due to this? -$300 to -$400 based on previous average yearly spend.

I am waiting for the next it server to transfer too. If it cost's my money so be it. The only reason I ever thought about transferring off G-land was to get away from glanders. Now they did it for me and I know where they went. lol
