Default Alchemist build request - Multiclass OK

Hey Yall, I returned and now need Alchemist for completionist again. From what I read, they are flask throwers. Not interested. What are my options for getting a alchemist PL that is high dps and maybe even durable? Dual crossbow build is ideal.

So, I need a build that can cater to +8 tomes on all stats, 36 pt build. Any ideas? I have no idea where to even start with this class.

    Thanks in advance.

The answer is a bottle thrower.

so you want an alchemist life without playing as a potchucker...

Inquisitive is a universal enhancement tree purchasable via the DDO Store for 495 DP.
or purchase Masterminds of Sharn expansion, and you can unlock it on a per-character basis by achieving 225 Sharn City Council favor.

This universal tree gives you access to the dual shooter crossbow which doesn't really care what your class is you can become a ptinkptinkptink crossbow shooter.

You can tailor your build to be a crossbow shooter and bolster with alchemist shtuff.. like elemental weapon buffs and cure pots along with a good selection of self buff pots.

but to be fair.. alchemist is a fun and powerful class as a potchucker.

Same amount of time as it takes a cleric to pray to their god for spells, or for a ranger to make arrows, etc.. Why would you think they need to create pots?

    Default Returnimg player Myself

As a returning player myself I had questions About this class. My HOT take on it is that it is probably the most OP class. The trees and scaling are ridiculous. They have unlimited range. They get to hit attack and dmg from there casting stat via a class granted feat, they get evasion, the list goes on and on.

Those inflict wound slas, murder low lvl content. And they just get better and better.

Zero down-time needed, the whole notion of "potions" is just descriptive fluff. They're just spells, same as any other caster.

ok cool. Can anyone recommend me a good build that will get me to 20 for my last life? Maybe a bombadier? Depending on how it goes I may play into epics. Lastly, what kind of gear does this class use? I am assuming wizard gear?

Go look for Gisty's build as a start. It's a little outdated but is a good place to start.

If you just want a quick pastlife for alchemist without bothering with learning to play the class I would say just go 16 alchemist 2 arti 2 rogue
It'll be relatively quick after you get the inquis imbue and the 8 points in assassin tree for 3 imbue dice.

Can do 1 arti 4 alchemist take the int feat to hit/dmg and switch to inquis then take 2 rogue and grab the 3 imbue dice for leveling order.
