    Default barb enhancement broken?

    i posted this a couple weeks ago in the barb forum, but have not received a reply. hoping the more-travelled forum may prove helplful.

    ive already bug reported this, hopefully i didnt jump the gun on that.
    [regarding barb enhancement]
    mutilate: Hate additionally deals 1d4/1d6/1d8 Charisma damage and 1d4/1d6/1d8 Bane damage. The bane damage scales with 200% Melee Power. Mutilate has a 10 second cooldown per monster on proccing its Charisma damage.

    i see in combat log where Hate generates hate, but there is bane damage being rolled... no cha damage either fwiw.

    anyone else having this issue? am i doing something wrong? has this been broken forever but i just realized it during this TR?

    Angry Tons of bugs in Ravager.

    I just tested most of Ravager, and the following enhancements don't do anything at all:

    1) Laughter

    2) Mutilate

    3) Festering Wound

    4) Dismember

    Do You Like Pain, I Like Pain, I Hit Back, Slaughter, Cruel Cut, Hate, Aura of Fear seemed to work fine.

    Duh. I noticed something was wrong with Dismember a while ago (perhaps a couple of months back), but first thought it was just a display issue...but it seems it's not.

    firstly, thanks so much!!

    secondly... wow! @LurkingVeteran is right... this is embarrassing.

    admittedly, it 'felt' like dismember and laughter didnt work, but when i would have the chance to check out my combat log, it usually had scrolled off the log.

    and the worst part is these enhancements are actually pretty good, imho, at least in heroics. they would really make my character a lot more viable, especially so early in his TR life(s).

    How can we know this is being looked at?

    The hook to this game is making and playing a DnD character.

    Enhancement Trees are the lifeblood. This is a heart wound.

    Default Occult Slayer Bug

    Knockout (Ear Smash's upgrade) doesn't function properly. It's supposed to be putting enemies to sleep for 6/12/18 seconds, but in reality they are only CC'd for 1-2 seconds. The "On Vorpal, enemies are stunned instead" portion of the ability functions correctly.

    I'd assume they're being woken by being hit again almost immediately, also there are a few abilities that might be throwing a small bleed DoT on them that's doing the same thing.. a similar thing happens with the daze from guardbreaking & sap, you basically need to be moving out of range straight away before your next attack smacks them awake again. It's still effective for interrupting attack chains & special attacks/abilities, or while passing through a group.
    I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

    I specifically tested this alone, without attacking them again or placing any damage on them after using Ear Smash/Knockout, so none of this is applicable - it's just bugged unfortunately.

    I’d agree, but SSG doesn’t seem to be affected by the embarrassment of glaring bugs in their product—zero F’s given. Neither do they care about the player experience or any of their customers’ concerns. The impression that I get is that the only thing they give any F’s about anymore is how to milk the whales & squeeze the remaining player base.

    It’s expected that a company makes money by providing a product or service, but imagine how much more lucrative it would be if they grew their customer base. Offering a better quality product (not just an ever growing pile of buggy/broken content) and maintaining a healthy relationship with their players can help SSG achieve this growth. And more players would be more willing to spend money if they feel valued.

    How many players either reduced their spending or completely stopped paying anything more into DDO? I know that I can keep playing for as long as the game lasts without spending another dollar.

    4 broken enhancements in one tree is just ridiculous Devs. Please address this as a priority.

    It's from December 22 originally dude so hardly mega necro and others have commented on it since. Still just as big an issue now, based on the testing I did yesterday 3/4 of the issues remain, and there is no reason to suppose the other is fixed. Unless you can point to a dev post that tells us differently.

    There also appears to be issues with OS, so this seems a perfectly appropriate thread to address these matters.

    So, I disagree, it remains a ridiculous state of affairs and something one would hope is high on the Devs priorities to address give the amount of bugs apparent.

    A one-month pause on a 3-month old thread about a relevant and persistent issue is just a “bump” in my opinion. No need to start a new thread, since it would be a copy/paste of the same information.

    This has been around 2-3 years. Severlin has said many times that fixing bugs is low priority (unless its game breaking) as they do not bring in revenue. Tolero is happy sending out producers letter and taking a paid vacation for 12 months. I envy SSG executives - rolling in money while doing fck all.

    5 weeks have come and gone. Any update on these broken Barbarian enhancements? I'm genuinely curious since my friend is half-way through his Barb life now.

    IIRC, they nerfed Ear a while ago (pre-ED changes?). It used to work on everything as a daze. If you didn't hit it again, it would stay dazed for the duration. Now, the sleep part factors in sleep immunities and thus many many things are immune. IMHO, this took it from worthwhile to waste-of-AP in one step.

    That ear-smash has issues is thus WAI; they specifically don't want it to have any value.

    I wouldn't mind if the Devs even said folks we can't do this for U60 but will schedule it for U61. Even fixing some of these bugs would be helpful. At least that would let us know it isn't simply being ignored and abandoned and give some hope for an eventual resolution.

    The fact that so many of these enhancements in a single tree are completely broken is ridiculous. To make the capstone I find I either have to spend points on enhancements that do absolutely nothing, or just as wastefully, on enhancements I will never use and neither want nor need.

    Now would be a good time to schedule these fixes after just issuing/fixing U59 (which overall has been a good update IMO btw).

    Cordovan, can you please feed this back the the Devs to ensure they are aware of these issues?
