What the hell is happening to DDO

I don't know what you did with U57 but holy **** did you bork gameplay. Lag, missing shots, spell effects not registering, have all been magnitudes worse since U57 launch. It was not the best before but after. it is stupidly bad.

And for love of god, can you finally fix Eye of the Titan. That warforged titan's path and AI has been screwed up for 10 years. Ran it twice, or tried to, and both times it bugged out when the Ancient Stormreaver Captain spawned and the titan was supposed to come down the stairs.

Every quest that you have NPC scripting that says they have to go here or do this a horrible rat filled cesspool of a quest. STOP MAKING THEM!

A friend of mine was wondering, are they doing it on porpose to avoid sales while black friday is on (due to rage yelling: "I Won't give even a cent to them untill it gets better!!")
Or it's just the new "normal"?

Lag is pretty bad, now that the OP is telling it, many things are getting clearer.

I thought it was Druid spells, I thought it was me (I'm from EU and i have a pretty bad ISP too)

Now I'm scared about the server performance even more.

Let's hope for a new update near christmas.

Maybe I am just lucky, but I haven't experienced any great lag of miss firing spells of any sort. I am playing a Druid spell caster (water based) and am doing pretty good.

Several of us have seen sunbolts in particular be horrible on registering. Going through multiple targets but only getting the first in the line. Or if it does hit multiple people, you get 1 damage on all of them. Even searing light has been hit or miss since U57.

And on my repeater arti, entire volleys of shots are not registering. Last night when I got so mad in Eye of the Titan, I was standing face to face with one of those ghost creatures just firing away and nothing registered until I moved away a good distance and tried again.

I agree, for a while here things did seem to be better. Load screens were less common, major freezes were very uncommon, but since U57...it is like they forgot to close the gate on all the lag monsters they had captured and they got loose again.

Unless DDO does something different than other online games like POE or SWTOR, then I don't think it is my computer. Most of the guild is in North Dakota, couple in Ohio, and all of us are experiencing the same problems.

I just realized something.. I dont play casters too often, but I am playing a pure FVS caster right now.. and I swear there are quite a few times I go to cast Pillar of Flame, or Comet fall. I cast the spells, but nothing happened.. But the spell is on a cool down like I did cast it. It wouldnt be arcane failure since Divines cast divine spells.. But I can tell you it really sucks to have to keep recasting spells to kill stuff.

Also on kyber, I mostly play melee, and it's like key stokes aren't registering during intense combat. I've played for over a decade and remember when the rubber banding at the end of Too Hot to Handle was in many dungeons, it's not that type of lag, it's just me pounding the same key over and over until it registers. This is new for me with u57, I'm just watching the forums and waiting for a patch so I can play again.

Could it be server related? For me that would be Thelanis, and playing from Norway. No major issues except some lag spikes every now and then, nothing new. The only day it gets somewhat worse is on Sundays, but I assumed it was due to more people playing? Spells went fine, and now I'm on my inqui and the shots seem to work normal

Thank you, it has been flaky for a very long time. I ran it again last night, this time not doing anything once it got down the first ramps and again when it turned around and had to come back down the stairs and this time it worked.

Your friend might wanna think about that one for a minute - if maybe if they didn't want to sell the game at a discounted price, there wasn't a better way than somehow lower the performance of the game for a subset of players...

While you are looking at scripting. Maybe take a look at "Combatting Corruption". Several times I have had the quest become incompleteable when the end displacer beast (void fang) gets activated too early and the "Find the source of the corruption" does not get completed.

I can't reproduce the Titan getting stuck. Can you tell me the exact steps to get him braindead? Your exact path, location might matter when he goes off script. Are you so far away you can't even see him when that happens? Please be specific.

When I have ran it and it bugged out, the titan goes up the stairs and down the hallway toward the altar. Sometimes he gets stuck at the end of the hall and does not turn back around to trigger the Stormreaver dialog.

In the past if someone was attacking the titan it can cause this state.
