Legendary Thirteen and Rainbow in the Dark

Hey All.

Have put exactly the colors required into every slot. Only those specifically for the slots (Green, Orange, and Purple) as well.
Solo'ed RITD (EE) and sadly nothing happened I could detect.

Maybe just a rainbow sword or there is another test still to do.

I was gonna ask - what has you thinking there's some hidden effect? If there were it would be wrapped up behind a paywall like the nebula fragments.

The thing that makes me think there might be a hidden effect is the strong tie into The Shroud in the flavor text.

There have been pieces with puzzles released recently and this is a prime candidate to be next in that cycle.

I imagine the fact that both the bastard sword and the sickle (which has flavor text that screams undead form hidden effect, although I haven't found anything just being in pale master forms) are bound to character like the dull dagger is instead of bound to account like all the other items in the pack as if to prevent complaints that a hypothetical similar secret upgrade would make a bta item btc later on in the overarching Vecna storyline.

That said, what actually is the 13th plane for Eberron? I'm guessing Xoriat since its last alphabetically and the bastard sword is named after the beholder end boss and has eyes on it. Or maybe Dal Quor since that's the plane that was made permanently remote and the number 13 in Eberron is themed around the lost members of groups. Plus maybe Dal Quor ties into Vecna's plans in the storyline, maybe he'll try to invade Sigil again through dreams. Has anyone taken the legendary version of the sword into the quest in the lord of eyes chain where you actually travel to Xoriat or the dreaming dark quest where you visit Dal Quor?

"The Thirteenth sword of the thirteenth plane," along with the way the sword looks, points to Xoriat, if anything. (might be a coincidence, but on eberron wiki Xoriat is listed as 13th)





PS. I also think that there is no treasure at the end of THIS rainbow :P

Oh, I totally agree that it's probably nothing, but the item has interesting flavor and it's fun to speculate about how it might be possible to upgrade it to the stronger dino bone crafting version that was on the first preview server iteration as if you were designing plot hooks for a tabletop game. Especially because it reminds me of the ongoing connected storylines in the older quests like NPCs in partycrashers foreshadowing other chains, Velah appearing throughout the world prior to the plane of night, or the dreaming dark council commenting on your progress in the game.

It was intentionally changed, with no mention in the Patch Notes. Some weapons from that pack were mistakenly flagged as BtC, all are fixed now. Nothing more to read into it.

That was my assumption but because it wasnt docummented and the wiki still shows it as BtC, and there doesnt seem to be anything online even mentioning it, it seemed worth sending up a flare in case anyone wanted to know, and also making sure I wasn't getting a bug
