Default [REQ] For the love of DDO, please add a secret passage way to Devil Assoult

Devil assault : the perfect quest to pike

the perfect quest to take a nap, while someone is fighting inside

would be the bloody time to add a secret passage for whom entering late the quest is stuck outside ?

Or alternatively, have the door open in-between rounds.

or no door—get rid of that first anteroom and just have the main battle room. With a gong to advance the waves.

XP opt: Bonus XP: Don’t ring gong and sit through long wait times like chumps have done for years because some devs thought this was a good quest design.

Yeah a gong is what this quest needs, and that obviates the need for a late entrance door

That quest is soooo old, one might break the game tinkering with it...

I think the reason its so long is because in theory the fight could take long enough that a new wave would appear before the current wave is destroyed.

The problem is since the quest was released and today, player characters have gotten about 8 billion times more powerful and a typical "wave" can be defeated in about 30 seconds.
If I can read the dev tracker, you can too.

Back in old epic before menace of the underdark that wait between spawns was a life saver. Rez everyone and set up CC. It WAS good design. It's just the game became super easy since.

It's like a mini-raid, with a timed lockout. No traps, no tricks, pure DPS and survivability. Get an adequate party together before you run it. <shrug>

Yeah I agree with this, I like this idea. Unlock the door between rounds. Still would encourage people to run it together but late joiners could still hop in rather than pike.

It’s not like a mini raid there is no reason for the lockout

This isn't a new request it's one players have asked for for almost a decade now.

But then I won't feel obligated to pass on the tokens of the twelve to whoever is fighting inside.

Didn't they increase the wait times because some folks complained it was too difficult?

I remember those days. If the wizard died their disco ball disappeared and then everyone else started to drop.

I also remember the end fight in Lords of Dust being really challenging way back when. Now it's a breeze.
FYI, when I summon an earth elemental, it's not a "he," it's a "she." And her name is Pebbles.

Don't even need to do that. Just make it a one way door like every boss fight has had in the past few years. Anyone can enter at any time after the fight has started.

Right. It's a pike and pass quest. If I need 10 minutes to do something else and see one, I hop in, pike, do whatever I need to do, pass tokens.

That being said, a bell to summon waves would be real nice. Or even a "BRING IT *******!!" option to summon everything at once!
