I have joined so many In the Belly of the Beast pick up groups, most of the time I get lost in there.
I think 7 out of 99 I managed to get there, after that I just gave up on the quest.

Btw, cogs quest seem to have the same problem. There are a lot of them that are faster to complete than it takes me and a bunch of others to get there.
Esp if you fall into the lava because of lag and have to run again as either death or no way back up.

    Other quest:
The island in IQ has a hard lock out, but I think you can use a friend teleport to get there. I count the whole pre-quest as run to quest time.
And by that standard a whole bunch of other arcs do as well.

Bring me the head of Ghola and that other quest out there, stupid long run time and you can get lost easily as designed to do just that.
King's forest quests, long run time to unquiet graves, lost thread, the port point and underdark entrance.

I would indeed skip those quests if not for the Purple Dragon Knight favor rewards and the Saga rewards. As it is, I run those quest as few times as possible on every life, which is sad, because I like the quests themselves, even though I hate the wilderness area.

It is obviously all in the eyes of the beholder but I wouldnt call those numbers absurd. Maybe, if you join a group that is already ip in Feywild and dont have access to porting there so you need to run from Harbour through the entirely wilderness to the Ice part - but even then I doubt it would be 5 mins.

I wont count not having an airship or a horse as relevant. If anyone is in that situation runs can be much longer, I do know that.
Okay, perhaps using the work 'absurd' was a bit hyperbolic. But it's still rather long, especially if you happen to have a slow (or no) mount. Also kind of a nuisance when a stray Fomorian attack for 0 damage causes you to dismount.

The swamp got a TP via the Hunt or be Hunted area. Can't see the issue with adding a guide to the general area of those 3 ice quests, in a similar way to how the Isle of Dread guides work. And it would help to save on unnecessary use of XP and Slayer potions. Of course ... that's likely a reason not to have a guide ...
    On a break. BRB maybe.

I understand that.. when your in a hurry etc... But on the flip side it takes away from the feel of a games depth. If everything felt like it was just at my fingertips, then I dont feel immersed in the world I am playing on. and DDO is no where near in depth as some other older games I played.. Namely Everquest.. Think about spending a half an hour to get somewhere and even then your there, your still being cautious, very cautious not to be killed by something, or being trained to zone a mob of monsters someone is running from. I felt very immersed in EQ. It helps if you had a Druid, or Wizard to port you to some locations, but even then you still ran.. Then they added shortcuts to get to places quicker.

But i understand if your a person who has limited time, and needs to hurry and get content done, sure having to travel can be frustrating.

Bringing back the bonus items from old expansions, for DDOstore purchase would be nice. There is no loss for SSG to "part out" the very old bundles at this point, and sell all the pieces individually. Some of the items from old bundles already exist for purchase, like content and iconic races.

At thos point, using Ravenloft as an example....what is the down side????

As for teleport to quest idea brought up. I'd say if that suggestion was way before ship teleports, and before fast horses, I'd say you have a good argument. However, cherry picking the dozen or so quests with almost 700 in game, to make a good argument does hold water.

I agree that the newer system of teleporting to quests from slayer entrance or tavern like ravenloft is great and should be added to places like Sands.

I'd like to see. VIP benefit of a 1/rest airship beacon per account or something like that. So we can reach our airship from anywhere any time.

There has to be some incentive to buy the biggest package. The teleport keys are one of them.

If they let you have the keys, then I want to be able to buy the Onyx Panther and Alabaster Lioness (yes, I know the lioness was a VIP gift, but I just missed it time-wise).

Add teleporters to all wilderness quests?

    Remove all quest flagging?

Historically, obnoxious quest mechanics, including long runs to the entrance, strongly influence my purchase decisions and quest usage.

In other words, I do not purchase or play obnoxious quests.

This was the absolute worst of the DDO design philosophy of "interesting/fun/adventurous the first time, horrible subsequent times".

It ws so cool to traverse the underdark, now I simply will never do these quests again.

If nothing else they should at least be consistent:
Ravenloft lets me teleport to quest entrance
Sharn lets me teleport to fixed points on the map
Gianthold - fixed points in the map
TBC - quest entrances once you've vistsed them once
Wheloon/Storm horns: Quest entrances for shards

Then the teleport to expansion items:
    Underdark: Unlocked by favor
Wheloon: None, shares the underdark one
    Ravenloft/Feywild: fixed point
Sharn: Multiple places within the area???

And just to be extra annoying, ravenloft/feywild shows in the Sharn boarding pass even if you don't have them.

I expect all of these issues and more could come in a nice wee quality of life pass, but those are a rarity in DDO.
