Default Spellsinger Gear Viability at Cap

    Hello fellow forum viewers,

I love, love, love bard. Of my last 10~ racial lives, nearly all of them have been bard spellsingers. I love the healing, the CC, and the DPS. However, I do not often see bards at cap. I am not sure if this is because they are criminally under-represented, or if their power really falls off at cap. I have been searching high and low for good gear sets for spellsingers at cap, and have not been able to find anything viable. Would love to know what people think!

    Thanks!

    Default Bard Gear

Good afternoon my man, found your post because I was looking for the same thing. I feel like there are a couple of sets that work well for me, but I am using some raid gear that I am not sure you feel like farming out. I run a lot of high reaper too, so that affects what I use. Currently I am using the bound elemental ring of frost and lightning to get the chained elementals set, plus it boosts burst of glacial wrath damage (very useful as it effectively CCs all the sharn robots) and the set gives +30 artifact spellpower and 6% crit to all elemental spells, but it is a raid set. I am also using Magewrites cloak/spectacles for the 3 DC, 3 charisma, and perform/concentration set bonus, along with +9 illusion and enchant DC, but those two items are also from raids. I have legendary elders cap and necklace for the 6% universal crit, 25 universal spellpower, and 15% spell damage, and the rest is filled in with feywild gear. Hyrsams fiddle as an orb, Vivace as my weapon, bottled rainstorm trinket, winter set boots and bracers, gloryborne gloves, and pyrefangs belt. It would be better if I had a dragonbone belt and a different offhand weapon that gave insightful/quality sonic spellpower and wasn't an artifact.

Before any isle of dread changes, I found using the following to be a very good base

    Vivace and Hyrsam's lute
Legendary elder's cap and legendary gem of many facets
    Elyd charm necklace

From there, I fit in 3 more pieces of winter set. After that the way to go is legendary feywild dreamer or legendary magewright but I never concluded my testing because IOD came out and I assumed things are gonna change from there.

All the caster sets have compromises IMO - eso doesn't have sonic crit and it locks you out of glacial assault, magewrites is super but has no crit nor caster body stats (fairly easy to fix) but also locks out popular caster slots eyes & cloak, and dreamer is designed for warlocks imo not bards. Feywild & magewrites also don't have artifact USP.

    Here's what I am running:
Magewrites, elders via gem, tourney armour (because scavanger is my 2nd set, artifact prr & hamp), glacial assault, clouded dreams, onyx, elyd charm, dino artifact belt (sonic crit, sacred dc), slaver boots (con/elec crit/perform/q.con), gomf (hamp/dev lore/i. sonic), augs to fill the rest, dino mainhand (flamehorn etc), alchemical small shield (air/water/air). Augs for missing stuff.

It's more dc's & slightly more dps & defence, less hp, to swap out bracers for castigators, belt or boots for lgs elec crit, gloves to arcane soldier, boots or belt to dino artifact, gem to elec crit.

Double dino (add shadowhorn etc) or offhand lgs ooze etc is even more dps, but then need to work in sonic sp & crit somewhere (could just be an aug for sp & sacrifice devotion lore for sonic lore).

I wont claim to have found a perfect setup by any means - but here is one way to go about it.

As far bards being viable - they are certainly viable in R10 questing for CC, heals, songs and dps.
