Default Looking For Cleric Build for Heroic TR'ing, Casting spec

I'm looking for a cleric build for casting, not sure what stats I should be looking for.

I'm 36 point build, I have a sup +8 tome (though it won't get past+6), will not be doing much epics except for tokens.

I'm leaning towards Aasimar and putting 20 wis, 16 cha, and 12 con (I could be horribly wrong here)

    Non-Iconic.

    Any help will be appreciated

Unless I am missing something you should be able to start with 20 wisdom, 16 charisma and 16 con on a 36 pt build.

My main suggestion would be using greater color spray as your main cc since it's only 10 spell points and has free metamagic. You always have soundburst and cometfall as backups for specific mobs.

Obviously going with divine disciple as your main tree and radiant servant for better turn undead is the way to go.

I favor light over dark since less is immune to it (most esp constructs) and sun domain is best and most consistent to help your dps. Death domain is super strong but requires spec'ing for negative energy for necrotic ray which is actually your highest dps spell option, but too many things are immune. Sun domain is better for leveling.

I personally find going war domain THF with warpriest/falconry hybrid/caster the best way to for leveling cleric. For that build I also use greater color spray as my main cc but tend to spam other spells also since I don't use as many sp. solid single-target and aoe dps, solid cc, solid heals, solid dcs for other support spells.

    https://ddowiki.com/page/Starting_a_Cleric

depends on how you want to play it .

Wisdom for casting and spell points
    Charisma for turning undead
    Constitution for hit points

    Strength if your Melee
    Dexterity if your Ranged
    Intelligence for skill points

    Wisdom as you level
unless you need prerequisite for feats.(Dexterity) Improved Precise Shot as an example requires a BASE 19 equipment and other enhancements are not counted when defining base ability level.
I started a multiclass cleric/rogue2 https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...4-Rogue-Cleric currently working on for solo

I use enchantment and light for spells
fears banes...., command and greater command and searing light holy smite .... sound burst
see above for spell power. good spell penitration for enchantment spells.

Law domain is awesome right now with the order's wrath sla. Chaos would be amazing, save that chaos hammer is bugged and half the time doesn't work. Death domain is great for single target damage and animal is brilliant for epics but you want heroic. So, death or law

I have done a majority of my racial pastlives as a caster cleric and have tried a couple builds. The one I suggest is going fire domain cleric.

Aasimar is a good start and going 20 wis 16 con 16 cha is good.

For enhancements while leveling start off by grabbing mighty turning from radiant servant. This will make most undead quests a breeze. Next grab the slas from divine disciple. I would go light. Searing light is a good sla but holy smite is a fantastic sla that you should get around level 8 or 9 and you can easily clear most content with it until about level 15 or 16. Flame strike is another good sla but does have a little longer cooldown.

For a comparison of domains, lets compare the ones suggested here sun, death, law, and fire

    Level 2:
Sun: 2 fire sp and 2 light sp every level. Turn undead give 10% light vuln.
Death: +Necro DCs and your turn undead is stronger
Law: +Enchant DCs and turn undead gives saves
Fire: 2 fire sp per level and you can use the higher of fire and light for your fire and light spells and your turns effect elementals.

Law is not great. Death gives a nice boost to necro dcs and turn undead but for heroics nuking will be more viable and as a cleric you are already pretty good against undead so the improved turns dont help a lot. Sun gives a good amount of spellpower and the light vuln is nice but its not needed for heroics. Fire gives sp but you only need 1 type of sp to cast both your fire and light spells which is nice. Also having turns effect elementals will give a broader range of quests that clerics are very strong in.

    Level 5:
Sun: Searing light that is an improvement to the DD sla but doesn't work with it.
    Death: Necrotic ray sla.
Law: Orders wrath an aoe sla.
    Fire: Sorching ray sla.

The clear winner at 5 is law with death having the next strongest sla against non immunes. Sun and fire lose on this tier.

    Level 9:
    Sun: Sunbolt sla.
    Death: Immune to energy drain
    Law: Greater command sla.
    Fire: Firewall sla.

Death is the clear loser with law not being much better. Firewall is not a great sla but it is aoe vs sunbolt being single target.

    Level 14:
Sun: Sunburst 20 sp 8 sec cooldown.
Death: Destruction 20 sp 12 sec cooldown.
Law: +3 hit and damage and ac vs chaotic creatures.
Fire: Firestorm 8 sp 8 sec cooldown.

Law loses. Death is good but for heroic leveling aoe damage is so much better. Fire and sun come down to firestorm vs sunburst. Both are aoe, firestorm deals higher damage (about 35% higher until the max caster level is reached), firestorm has a much larger radius, sunburst can kill light fearing mobs and blind though. I still think firestorm just comes out ahead on this comparison though.

Fire just has a lot of benefits to the domain and better aoe spells. Sun can reach higher light sp and has good single target spells but is not ideal for leveling through heroics.

Oh wow, lots of good advice here.

20 16 16 seems decent especially with tomes boosting those immediately. Tough to decide on domains, everything I read was like "fire sucks, it's only sun and death that are good". Glad to have more recent feedback on it.
