Default You need to be on a hookpoint to use the amenity contract.

Why do we need to stand a certain exact spot to place ship amenities?

Because they need to be assigned to "a particular place" on the ship, and that's how it was coded?

The only other way that comes to mind would be some sort of map of the ship - and that's not how it was coded.

They had to pick one or the other, and they picked the first one. Makes sense to me - you don't have to interpret a map, it's a true, in-game perspective on where they're being assigned - what more do you want?

    Does that answer your question?

Yeah, you have to stand on the spot where you want the amenity to be placed, but why the heck do you have to be in an EXACT spot as the op states? Many times I have gone to replace an amenity and swear Im standing on the spot and I have to b move around to find the EXACT spot. Kind of ridiculous and the op has a very good point. Way too much of a pixel hunt.

If you're standing on the amenity point, and it gives you a message about having to be on it, just jump up, it should work just fine after you land.

It's working fine. It's not something that is hard to use or figure out.
