Default Paladin, Light Damage, and DPS

Does it scale with spellpower? How can I increase its damage?

What's the best way to increase a paladin's dps?

Gears? Which ones should I use? (raid excluded)

    1) Light damage from Paladin KotC enhancements scales with the higher of Melee or Ranged Power, not Spell Power.

    2) Not enough info. What type of Paladin? SnB, THF, TWF, SWF? Knight of the Chalice, Vanguard, Sacred Defender?

    3) This will depend mainly on 2) above as well as level.

Give more info on how you plan to play and I'm sure there are plenty of us who would be willing to give you our 2 cents (which are sometimes even backed up by math ).

Longsword TWF, Knight of the Chalice + Sacred Defender.

currently level 3, planning to get to 20 then reincarnate for past life, so a path of gears would be helpful

These builds may help give you some ideas: Build Repository - Paladin.

If you are going to TR, gear sets are going to change depending on new class(es). Basically, White Plume Mtn is good from 6-10 Ravenloft has lv 10-15 gear, Sharn is lv 15-20. You may also want to look into crafting some universally useful items like a ring of Constitution/Protection or goggles of True Seeing/Blindness Imm. For the most part though, heroic levels can be easily geared for with random loot.

At the moment I think two-handed fighting is the way to go especially when dealing with mobs. In KOTC great sword becomes a favored weapon at tier 3.

I put together an 18 paladin / 2 rogue thf build with video support if anything here might be useful: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...o-play-players

Whichever weapon you use check ddowiki to see items with better critical profiles or other special benefits. For example here are long swords: https://ddowiki.com/page/Category:Long_Swords

    Thanks for the answers!

The Blade of Inquisition and Silver Blade of the Flame looks great for my level, will definitely try getting 'em!
