i was recently told its not "save" to do any epic incarnations, just wondered if thats fixed already since im about to inc ^^

I've not heard of any issues. Historically Epic Reincarnations have been pretty safe, as it doesn't involve the clearing of inventory and bank space into the TR cache. The same is true of lesser reincarnations.

Personally, I did an ER recently and had no issues.

There's one post a bit down the page in general about one player's issues. However, I've ETR'd twice without issue since 46.2. Once the day of the patch and once a couple days ago. I'll ETR again tomorrow and don't expect issues with it.

The one thing I DO NOT EVER DO on any TR is eat the heart and then TR as fast as I can.

I use the heart, swap characters or log for a bit, then log on and reincarnate. The intent is to give the server time to sync fast storage with slow or commit any pending transactions to a database or .. well .. essentially "save" the character and flush it from memory so that on the next log-in, the character logged in 100% matches the one from wherever DDO keeps logged off characters.

Thanks for posting the references. It sounds like it's not new to 46.2, though, considering one post predates that patch by a few months.

Ever notice that the more serious the bug is, the less likely SSG is to weigh in on it? "Hmm, maybe if we ignore it, it will just go away."

If you're just Epic Reincarnating then you're probably fine. The only people I've seen who've reported losing all their karma ETR'd, meaning they first ER'd and then immediately TR'd back to lvl 1, then noticed all their karma was gone after reaching level 20. If you want to ETR I would recommend doing the reincarnations at least a full day apart.

I lost all my ED progress on a "just Epic Reincarnation".

Also lost it after an ER followed closely by TR.

Haven't lost any karma yet, nor have I lost any EPLs according to the Past Life section under feats.


The OP will probably be fine because MOST people don't have a problem with their reincarnations, but NOT because they're "only doing this or that".


All the suggestions for not rushing through the process sounds good and are steps I have been taking for every reincarnation. They didn't prevent me from losing my ED progress twice.


Roll the dice! You'll probably be fine.

If not, open a ticket. You'll probably have to wait a lot longer than you think is reasonable and won't get satisfactory or timely communication, but it still might get fixed.

Half of the times I lost my EDs, it got fixed by CS, so that's not nothing!
